Flashes & Day 339 Cookie Jar Sweet Memories!-book Iv

Flashes!

Satiating fresh air breathe, quick flash, one instant’s passed
Life term predicts one day too soon will come an eternal last

In final flare of life, time’s snapshots delight dance
Flashed lightning displays tried reach at lucky chance

What story painted on a panoramic palette might I see?
Awesome faces! Wondrous places! What could they be?

Or Jesus-man in golden glow halo paired Holy Ghost
Pristine place, Pacific blue, beloved beach Oregon Coast

Acquaintances encountered, touch and some I knew
Of such myriad tribe I may have even loved a few

Before He in white prescribes my fate with judgment placed
Myself decides how well I handled various challenges faced

Will then I laugh at the unimportant wraithlike evil feared travails?
Or, dare softly smile satiated with pure value-truth as worry pales?

Soothsayer enjoyed wild rainbow of a sixties rockin’ generation
Shouted! “I got it! Lord!” And, freely lived the rollin’ celebration

Sojourned some near, then far and golfed and hunted; things a man might do
Loved Nature’s earth, the sun, the snow, ice storms and cooling morning dew

And, worthy persons I did love and a limited who held me dear
Pictured best are a precious few within my heart embraced near

Breezes cool and showers soft and rainbows chased and butterflies
Noble horses, loyal dogs, independent cats, beasts who speak no lies

Not one solitary regret within that cherished album shall I ever find
Faith! Family! Freedom! Focused-virtues in these my times defined

In that single instant between the then and now and “Somewhere?” soon
Like living free above it all just south of high sun’s piercing bright noon

His Son within the Father’s glow of Grace in Holy Spirit Trinity
A soul to Him, then man developed for true Spirit through eternity

No greater love for man than offer this My Honored Spiritual Being
Pleased last review of lightning flashes truly worthwhile seeing. Amen!

Day 339

Becky’s candy bill at Hoefft’s

We dropped the kids off in Maeystown about 7:30 each morning on our way to work; Candy teaching at Columbia school---and…Well! Whatever I did (or, didn’t do). Hmm!

In the evening, they got off the school bus at Hoefft’s tavern to wait for our arrival, usually about ten minutes behind them. Little Becky would go into the tavern and buy candy; she had no money but talked proprietor Rick into running a tab for her which Candy (Mom) would then pay.

Let the games begin. Always an adventure---awaiting an event…always!

Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Dentist-visit?” Memories!
