Day341
“Stop-sign” game
with the little girls
Our
little girls were very young when I got sick; Lauren 6, Lexi and Anna Marie 4.
They “babysat” Bapa during the day; such absolute angels. I slept most of the
time but was “handy” should they need adult
help. Yeah! Right!? They are more “adult” than the old man!
Anyway,
I play games with everybody about anything so, I created the “Stop-sign” game/
Lying
on daughter Becky’s sofa, the little girls would busy themselves and let me
rest; Becky was home should any real crisis develop where a real “adult” was needed;
poor-girl actually had (4) “kids” to deal with; nice to know you are loved; no
one ever complained, they would find me awake, at times, as they passed by my
presence and we would converse and laugh. I started putting my arm out and
saying “Stop sign!’ as they tried to go by the sofa where I lay. Well, all too
soon, Anna Marie began to dodge my arm “stop sign” and worm her way through the
obstruction, giggling a devilish sarcasm as she eluded the “police”. Lexi and
Lauren caught on to the game and joined in the melee. Anything for “fun”; they
loved my shenanigans.
We
played that stupid made-up game for about 4 to 5 years; eventually they grew up! Sad!
Reckon
the confession and transgression, and consensus, is---that the big “kid”…never
did!?
Sometimes,
even today, on their Christmas and birthday gift certificate-books I’ll slip in
a page that says: Stop sign! That brings a smile and chuckles as they continue to
indulge Bapa.
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “I love you! Girls!”
Memories!
