Day 331
Farm-living at
the “old house”---no running water
(even the
Douglases had running water in Hooterville)
“Green
acres is the place to be---
Farm
living is the life for me…”
One
of my favorite shows from the ’60’s---I was actually envious…then, I found home.
People
made fun of me. “You belong living in Mayberry,” they’d say.
“Nah!”
I’d reply with disdain at their derisiveness, “Too sophisticated; I’ll take
Pixlie!”
I
am a simple guy; always have been;
always will be. No “Fake-book for
me!” Don’t own a fancy “modern” phone; barely able to turn on a computer. Hate
suits; love being comfortable.
I’m
humble; know who and what I am---and, more
importantly…exactly who I am.
I
am “at peace” with the world---and…myself! “What others think of me is none of
my business.” Don’t know---don’t care to know…not interested! I’m fine; hope
you are, too.
Everything
in my life is extremely---Simple! Good
or evil! Black or white! Right or left!
So?
Green acres is a “fiction”! You can’t
live there; it doesn’t exist! What an absolute fool!
To
that particularly ignorant
conclusion, I say, “Thank you! Very much!”
If one such as I,
an Independent-Individual, ever
sold-out to “modern” tripe---I’d die!
So?
I’ll pull my water from a cistern with a bucket tied to a rope…and, persevere!
I
shall always defer and respect your
“right” to choose; I also demand my
right to decide!
In
the end, or, even, in the interim, I’ll look satiated in the mirror before my
face.
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Mea culpa!...” Memories!
