Day 327
Catherine
Elizabeth (Beth)—February 11, 1967
The
winter morning dawned like a warm spring day; early February should not be
warm!
Our
task for that fine Saturday morning was to do some interior painting in our
apartment; our “little-package” had some other, and better, intentions.
Catherine Elizabeth was arriving! Wow!
Seems
I was very soon going to be a real live “Daddy”! At ---19! Wow! Again.
To
that time and place in my life---the 2nd-time…very Best thing to happen to me! Amen!
The
1st being an exchange of “I do!” between Lady Candice and myself. Bravo!
My
“little” Beth and I sure enough had us a passel of exciting adventures over the
years; she grew up---Reckon? The jury is still out on that assessment as far as
I am concerned!? Oh! Well!
Beth
loved “little Golden-books”; we must have had everyone of them that they
published; each was “well-worn” from repetitive readings; Candy (Mom) had them
memorized.
By
age 4, Beth wanted a horse! Wow! Of course, we bought her a little white
Welsh-pony.
I
negotiated a used saddle and bridle in the “deal” with our little mare. Lady
taught all of us to ride and instilled in us a “love” for the equine-species
which endures to this day and has transferred on to our next daughter and on to
the grandkids; horses make good pets---and…friends. I like dogs and cats and
other animal-types but horses hold a special place in my heart. We have been
home to myriad critters over the years; it is an enjoyable hobby.
Beth
excelled in her studies; she wanted to be a lawyer since she was a young child;
she is!
The
“highlights” of my life are the “people” I love---to wit…The seven precious
stones in my (metaphoric) golden-crown are Candy, Beth, Becky, Z. Tyler,
Lauren, Lexi and Anna.
Beth
is---Gorgeous! Intelligent! Compassionate! A “Great” Mom! Professional!...Perfect!
She,
and sister Becky, have inherited their mother’s arsenal of culinary skills. Yum! Yum!
She
is quite knowledgeable about the equine animal and rides like the wind! I love
her!
Suave,
sophisticated, debonair with expert gourmet culinary skills and a great
daughter.
Our
Becky got a “Civil-engineer” degree; I’m still waiting for a “train”-ride!?
Hmm!
Beth
is a lawyer---sure hope…she doesn’t put me in jail!? Hmm!
I
think that all I ever really wanted
in life was a “Great”-family---Thank you!...I got it!
Live!
Love! Laugh! Focus
contemplate!
Vigilant be! No
one’s future is ever late!
Faith!
Family! Freedom!
Might just be all there really---Is!
In one eternal
instant the only mercy blessing will be…His!
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Love you! Beth-er!”
Memories!
