Day 96 CJSM

Day 96

Hours of pitch & catch on the driveway---

Until Becky passed out one day from the heat

We played hard! Always! And, shared the enjoyment as a family. Bravo!

Becky was intense, in each event, in every adventure. Some people actually “get it”.

Beth displayed such “honor”, also. My progeny is my celebration of a “Great” life.

We sure enough had us a “fun” time; every day; every time. A celebration of life!

Becky and I played pitch and catch in the driveway for hours on end; friends do that.

Our design of that house at Maeystown on the farm included a twelve foot retaining wall and a blacktop drive; that wall was perfect for throwing practice and hitting tennis balls against it.

Our Becky was relentless at pursuing “perfection” at any endeavor she undertook. Out there on that blacktop driveway in the hot sun, she practiced her pitching and tennis until she could hardly stand up One fine day, the “heat” got to her---and…she fainted. Nothing serious! Good!

Our unspoken, but sacred, creed: If it’s worth doing, run the determination Flat-out!

Such conclusion is a way of life; with it, “failure” cannot “win”; everybody wins!

I played a bit of tennis in those days, too. Often, in the evening, our family would trek into town to the local school where they sported lighted tennis courts. We played many a match on those courts. Of course, the municipality had nothing on us. I installed floodlights for our court.

In the midst of swimming, trail riding, horse shows, hiking, shooting, ball and tennis we planned all activities for the entire family. Our children were always accepted as equals and treated with utmost respect; their thoughts and opinions were heard, considered and applauded.

In the end, the true test of “worth” is the final product of any life. Our progeny serve us well, make us proud, hold our love, forever. I describe these “special” persons as “Quality!” Amen!

Always---simple…with sacred “honor”. I believe: That’s the way it is meant to be! Amen!

Thank you! Girls and boys for sharing your lives with us; we appreciate it and love you!

Amen!

Ah! Cookie Jar “Love!” Sweet memories!
