Day 105
Pineapple
sundaes and butterscotch sundaes from Reaban’s
Somebody
decided to emulate the McDonald’s hamburger joint business plan and began a
franchise of restaurants with the name of “Reaban’s”. Their food was on a par
with the big boy’s offerings and, the price was most competitive. Yum! Yum!
Their Friday fish was the very best!
We
spent a lot of “family-time” with the kids the absolute center of attention;
what better way of finalizing the day’s celebration of work, play, swimming,
horses and ball than a cooling dessert after sunset of delicious “ice cream” in
the form of a sundae? Each had their favorite.
Reaban’s
reigned supreme in small towns for years as the big boy shunned rural America.
When
the “geniuses” at corporate finally realized the revenue laying-in-wait on the
farm, well, they at long last sowed the spores of Golden-arch mushrooms across
the land reaping huge profit to fill the company coffers. That sounded the
death knell for old Reaban’s. Adios!
But,
the sweet taste of pineapple and butterscotch sundaes lives on, as does a
loving family!
Ah! Cookie Jar “Sweet”-sundae Memories!
