Thanks! Mom!
For: Too much to
ever name;
Your
beauty---isnide and out;
Your
charitable-generosity to all;
Lunch and dinner
and so much more;
Needed
“patience” with the likes of---me!
Lady Candice
allows: You never had an un-kind word for any!
All the washes,
line-dries and ironing;
An immaculate
house so neat & tidy;
Class to spare
through kindness & compassion;
Acceptance of
our “friends” without question;
Teaching me
important: Faith! Family! Freedom!
Instilling
worthy “intent”: Live! Love! Laugh!
Exemplifying the
value of: Good! Better! Best!
Un-conditional Love!
for all---and…always!
Never being too
tired or busy or uninterested;
Seeing that we
had the very best of everything.
And,
Just too much
more for “Simple”-I to recall.
But,
Be well-assured
that simple-I hold sincere-dear:
I
love you! Thank you! You’re the best---always…and, forever!
Whatever I may
hold close, Mom & Dad helped-fashion.
I have my
heroes! I reckon! True enough!
In this creative
“haunted”-imagery of mind, to wit:
Superman
& The Lone Ranger!
But, in that
reality-of-life---no less…dear Mom & Dad!
Thank
you!
For “all” of it! And, always!
I Love/cherish: Faith! Family! Freedom!
I
“purposely”-celebrate---Life…and,
sweet-Love!
Have a Great!-day---like you taught…me to
enjoy!
God bless! Carl
Plus:
Day 261
Betting on the
ponies at Fairmont Race Track
and our “family”
photo in the starting gate
Yeah!
Just another of my evil vices---Gambling!...I’ll corrupt anybody!
I
play the lottery---had a “little” luck, once…won $100,000! Yep! And, I spent it---all!
Played
some poker hands in my day, too. Nothing to write home about, I reckon!
Taught
the girls to play poker and blackjack, how to roll dice and to bet on the
ponies.
Yeah!
I corrupted those little darlings and MR. Z. Tyler on the evils of gambling the
“lottery”, too. Buy them scratch-off’s and “big” lotto all the time, especially
birthdays and holidays.
One
night we took some friends and Three Catholic nuns to the race track. Sister
Jan won the first five races but refused to tell anybody which horse she would
bet on until after the race; I had won---none! I begged and pleaded and,
finally, in the 6th race, she divulged her “secret”-pick to me. Boy!
Inside information! I loaded up on that fine steed---and…he lost!
That
was the one and only time she gave away her knowledge; she continued to win; I
lost!
On
the very last race of the night, the woman-half of our friends we had taken
along (to teach them the ropes of betting on flee-bitten “dog”-food) bet on a
50-1 shot and won---$100!...I quit!
One
fine night (like I said, I’ll corrupt---anybody)
we coaxed my mother-in-law to accompany us on the adventure. Now this gal was
so “tight” she saved used napkins; No! She never bet.
After
the races were over, we loaded up in the chariot for home but my brother, John,
spied a starting gate along the drive going out of the park grounds; we stopped
and everybody got out and took a position in that discarded starting gate like
a roster-of-nags ready for a race. Yep! We sure enough did! My brother took
pictures of us in the gate---I still claim “I won that challenge”!
Sure
enough reckon that’s one most unique
“family”-group photo! Hmm!
I
do a bit of equestrian, myself; success
is “not” falling off the critter and getting trampled!
Actually_ I’d
rather bet and lose…than have to run the race!
And---
Nuns! Really? Umm!
Hmm! (I’ll need a “ticket” to get into heaven!)
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Forgive me my trespass…”
Memories!
