September
Fleecy white clouds traverse deep-cerulean sky
Temperatures cooling as less warm days by-fly
Blue-winged teal begin their early migration
Pre-cursor fall winds stir still water gyration
Search place-secluded to hunt in populated world
slanted
Kind leather-faced farmer pronounces “Permission
granted”
Duck blind constructed with camouflage corn stalks
Lure in the dark-“V’s” with protracted duck call talks
Watch the birds set their wings, get ready right now
boys
A most beautiful show as they flair amongst set decoys
This good day has dawned and lived and gone
Red-setting sun chorus hums this hunter’s song
Tomorrow at sunrise in that chilly cold dew
Once more find treasure as onward fowl-flew
Ever southward to some ancient calling nesting place
Over white cotton ball puffs follow unseen sky trace
While in the right rhythm of God’s good clean earth
Life-cycle continues with each new day’s dawn-birth
Amen!

Day 260
Piano recitals
There
seems to be no end to the talents of our progeny; they can do absolutely anything!
Lady
Candice plays the piano and several other instruments; the girls follow her
lead.
Or
a guy with zero ability and even less
talent, I might “play” a radio if it is plugged in and on station, I sure
enough got a plethora of “talent” all around me.
I
have spent myriad hours at recitals, concerts, performances, practices,
lessons---Whew!
The
efforts have paid off---these girls’ talents are most entertaining…and,
natural.
I
do not regret those many hours; just being with these children is a reward in,
and of, itself!
Every
once in a while, they will “hog-tie” the illiterate Neanderthal and drag me to some fancy-schmancy doings at some
“opera”-house, or such; I always
demand a front-row seat---Hell! If I
gotta go there anyway…might as well be close enough should some of that culture slop out that I get a good
portion of it on---Me! (Waste not;
want not!)
Now---for
some “culture”-music…where did Candy put those new batteries!? Damn!
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet ‘Elvis!? Oh! Elvis!?”
Memories!
