Valley-low! Summit-high!
Yonder in
verdant valley-village deep
Sunlight
comfort-warms people keep
Neat-lined
cobblestones define tidy roads
Nifty shops run
by myriad proprietor-modes
Old man reposed
on the bench before yonder Bakery
Contemplates the
river-flow, enjoying fine his cakery
Mrs. Nugent with
egg basket on her arm approaches
Busy with a
tasty treat the man ignores, offers reproaches
“’Mornig! Mr.
Tibbles!” Chirps flirtatious Ole lady Gertrude
Nodding, he
chews his cake; not today any web-like interlude
But, far across
the cobble- lane, meandering past the Le Grande Hotel
Caught in the
twinkle of his eye, lithe-slender beauty, Rosie O’Dell
A smile betrayed
his non-chalance; the cake tasted just better
A sassy-lassie
sun-auburn hair; wondered if her might get ’er
Babbled on the
crystal-water of the river as he eyed yon beauty
A warming sun, soft,
sweet cake; enjoy pleasant-view, his duty
“Broken-hearted”
egg-lady “Humph”-ed a tossed-head so derisive
Leaning out to see around her thus improved his
perspective-incisive
An eagle
screeched its call from high upon yon pinnacle-reach
Looked down upon
the white-stone buildings’ gleaming-bleach
Spying the
oldster striding spry gliding ’ore granite-cobblestones
Intercept his
mark of auburn-glow to smile Love-greetings
attone
The eagle wise
of his friend’s routine was sure to meet him later
The old man’s style
“Cool”; surely, this time, he would
date ’er
On yonder
mountain summit lovers dreamed in sunset-bliss
To view yon
eagle from above? ’Tis to share a passion-kiss!
And---I’ve
viewed the eagle-wild high above…and, tasted sweet of Love!
Amen!

Christian
Generosity:
Ole gospel-king
amusing-sense strolled cadenced-bop entertaining
a tune within
his head approached a matron lady-type eyeing a
blue
chariot-Cadillac among the herd on display with a wistful
smile of
concerned demeanor that she might only
dream to drive/
“What color do
you like?” Queried that famous melodious voice.
Vacant to
reality, “Blue!” She hush-whispered
an empty wish.
“It’s yours!”
Announced the charity of true Christian-generosity!
And---Elvis gave
her that car…I gave away a few, too! But, I can’t sing!
Day 164
Nanny playing
“Pizza Party” with the grandkids
We
played a lot of board games with the kids and grandchildren; mostly, Nanny.
Seems the kids always won those contests; Lexi
won every chess game we ever played.
When Z, Tyler was a sprout and we lived in
Oregon, Nanny pitched to him with a plastic ball and he could hit it pretty
good with a little plastic bat; the neighbor lady enjoyed watching them.
The “fun” , like life, was in the playing,
not, so much, in the winning. Success was doing it!
We have an antique pie safe filled with games
and cards and such; always a fun event.
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Can I play?” Memories!
