(May 18, 2017)
My dearest
Alexandria Elizabeth & Anna Marie:
Always that
distant pinnacle in sight, the summit achieved
A mountain
climber came, saw, conquered---diploma received!
Way back yonder,
nervous challenge ole kindergarten-time
Discovered
“learning” fun with curious-intelligence sublime
Grade 1 and 2
and on through years your mind voracious
An
outlook-attitude of sacred-love universal-spacious
Always “that”
smile proud-displayed for all the world
Beauty-intelligence
quite humble whisper-wind swirled
Amazing! In your perfect
time-space Love exemplar-fathom
Must know the
“why?” to satiate that curious eternal chasm
Add, then, the
myriad special talents adorning alluring packet
Music! Sports!
Writing! Christian charity! Alone in your bracket
Proud! Be Simple-humble I to love thee
unconditional-true
Among me
precious seven-jewels holy-blessed I purpose-knew
Tomorrow?
Another challenge ye shall encounter to deftly tame
Through this
space, our time, I pray! Thee never fabulous-change
That anyone
might evil-dare interfere with sacred-gift thou are
Confesses
jealousy-purpose as paled in brilliant-light of thy star
Alexandria
Elizabeth, another beauty-queen, rides like any wild-wind
My girls and
boy-delight for life, if any bit of it I missed, I surely sinned
Anna Marie and
her beau---charming-debonair…ole Zorro-horse
Proud-prancing
tamed-beast suave-Argentine-equine, of course
In the tender
years ye’ve traveled far to kiss the alabaster pale full moon

Only two kind

The blind---and…the dead!
Well! Now! I
don’t need glasses---
and…I sure as
hell ain’t dead!---not…Yet!?
Reckon that’s
about as close to a
transgression-confession
as I’ll ever get!
Umm! Hmm! Oh! Yeah!
Day 171
Beautiful views
of the bottoms
Our
first house as a family was in town on a main thoroughfare; lived there three
years.
Then,
I found a building lot of 10acres. The property sat on a bluff overlooking
Fountain Creek to the south and the Mississippi River valley to the west. The
view was outstanding giving sight into the neighboring state of Missouri for
quite some miles, maybe 20, or, so. Those sunsets were phenomenal and I sure
enough shot up some number of 35 exposure 35mm rolls.
We
had a gate in the back pasture which led to the bottoms and the levee along
Fountain Creek for about six miles to the big ole Mississippi River. Many
“full-moon” nights we invited our horse friends for a “Moon light” ride; one
night we had sixty-three horses on the trail. Becky fell asleep in my arms on
several of those rides when she was too small to mount her own steed.
We
entertained ourselves; the “simple” things of life provided adequate enjoyment.
Things
like birthday parties, bar-b-ques, swimming, day trips, photography, shooting,
fishing and hunting. Faith! Family!
Freedom! Makes the “Good” life an easy accomplishment.
Often,
we took car rides in the river bottoms along the bluffs; sometimes we had a
convertible, adding more “fun” to the outings. Fall was, and, is, my favorite
time of the year although I’d be hard pressed to make any determination not to be excited by any season. Even
dreaded Midwest summers with wicked humidity has seemed to slacken in its
torment.
Snow
might just be my favorite Mother Nature treat; I love a good thunderstorm, too.
Whatever
she dishes up, I’m “all-in”. Life is “Great”! And, whatever you decide to make of it.
Celebrate!
Amen!
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “life” Memories!
