Miss Lexi & Miss Anna Marie---Wow! What a Great celebration
welcoming you into the Faith!
Just---simply...Tremendous!
The bishop performed an act in Praise!
Honor! Glory! To God! His litany of the sacred virtues caused me to
say "Amen!" as I thought of you and our family; you all exude
those values everyday in every instance of life. You all are exceedingly blessed; I am so very proud of each of you; Thanks for allowing me to hang out
with such celebrity of the religious persuasion. And, Nanny got to be
sponsor---twice! Wow! That touches my heart in a very special way. (You all
might have noticed that a wretched-soul married to an angel only
serves to highlight my faults!---and...I do not require any help on that account!)
The bishop confirmed my 40 year lament that the church is suffering a dying membership though he
failed to lay blame where it belongs (I guess some things take
time---and...humility) but cause, in the end, is irrelevant; God lives
within a robust religion foundationed in the human heart, mind, soul and
spirit---that is Christian people like you all in our family and myriad others
all over this old world. You all, and the rest of Christian practitioners are
the new members of Cherubim & Seraphim, already Saints-on-earth
evidenced each instant by your Faith!
Family! Freedom! exemplar practiced-credo. Happy to see Z.
Tyler and Miss Jen in attendance along with Miss Lauren (You are so pretty!)
We are so very proud to love each of you all! We love you more than you could
ever know! Mommas Lady Beth and Lady Becky, along with Mr. Graig and Mr. Alex
have done a spectacular job. What a pleasure for your Nanny and I to have all
of you at the sacred event-celebration! Congratulations! And---Thank you! With
Love! Respect! Devotion! Pride! Gratitude! As always, Nanny & Bapa

A life insurance salesman once allowed:
Youth!---Why is it wasted on the,,,young?
I bought a policy, but wondered about his query.
I accurately concluded (about the riddle) that
youth is not wasted on the young---if...one refuses
to grow old! Chronologically, no one beats "times-lament",
but attitudinally, such conclusion is another story!
You get to choose! I treasure---Youth!
I was wrong about the policy---what an idiot...
placing a bet that I die so "I" can be rich!?
And, willingly paying heavily for the privilege?
Enjoy this instant---and each subsequent...one day,
someone will "cash-in" on your sophisticated choices!
Amen!

Day 177 CJSM
Day 177
Taking Z. Tyler
on the Big Red Boat to the Bahamas
We
were blessed when Z. Tyler was a tot; he lived with us while Mom Beth finished
law school. He traveled all across the country with us; we even took him on a
cruise.
The
Big Red Boat cruised us to the Bahamas. Z. Tyler, age 4, handled himself like
“James Bond” cool; suave, sophisticated, confident. Made himself right at home.
When
the waiter on the ship, Fortes, took our dinner orders, little Z. Tyler pointed
to the menu and asked, “Fortes! What’s this?” (He couldn’t read, but, didn’t
let that stop him.) He chose some items and rejected what didn’t suit his
fancy. Wow! What a fine young man!
Pointing
to the menu, Z. said, “Fortes, what is this?”
“Strawberry
soup.” Politely replied our waiter, smiling at the young man and his manners.
“Served chilled,” he added, to which Z. made a displeasing face.
He
passed on cold soup; me, too. Z. Tyler: Class---from
the very beginning…and, always!
We
snorkeled, sighted the sites, went shopping in the open bazaar. The native gals
just loved Z. Tyler; they had to rub his white-blond thick hair and “Ooh!” and
“Ahh!” over him. The boy didn’t seem to mind---not…one little bit. How come
they didn’t give me some of that attention?
We
once traveled from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific in thirty days with our
travel-buddy.

Thoughts & Day 176 CJSM
Colorado-Mornin’ High!
I reckon that “You can take the
boy out of the farm---but…?
Seven a.m. on a Sunday morning
and I’m out the door to our
30’ X 40’ “shed on the property
to visit Mr. Timothy, our
(actually the granddaughters)
black Mini-Rex rabbit waiting
“patiently” for his morning
carrot-breakfast. A fine “Hello!” to
Timmy and Lady Candy’s turtle
doves and---chores…Done!
A whole lot easier than all those
years on the “real” farm
herding cattle and horses, sheep,
chickens, ducks and one
lone turkey name of “Tilley”
rescued from the humane society.
Exhilarating! And, what a
“perfect” morning, better than most.
The wee hours of the morning
thunderstorms had washed out the
humid atmosphere of yesterday
scrubbing away the torture. Now,
Colorado cerulean skies greeted
me with a whisper-wind cool as
freshness sliding off the emerald
mountain slopes in the Rockies.
Breathing deeply, my mind
fantasized visions of the mountains.
Life is “sure enough” what you make it!
Ah! Colorado Rocky Mountain Mornin’ High!
Amen!

Day 176
Tom-Tom!
Thumping from Wyoming through
South Dakota
into Nebraska down through
Missouri---all…the “long” way home!
One
year we vacationed IN Colorado, actually, many times; we came home the northern
route.
Coming
through the South Dakota badlands and Mt. Rushmore which Becky called Rushmore
Mountain. I made the mistake of buying her an Indian drum at a tourist trap
shop.
She
played it and played it and more and more; I wished she would wear it out! She
didn’t!
By
the time we got home, I knew so many “wild” Indian songs, at least, the melody!
If
memory serves, Beth prayed for lightning to hit that drum, too!

Happy Birthday! Anna Maie! & Happy Retirement! Candy!
Happy Birthday! Anna Marie!
(May 25,
2017---14 years! Wow!)
My dearest Anna
Marie (me Love!):
Happy
Birthday!
Darling Annie! 14-years! Wow!
You go! Girl!
You Rock!
How I do cherish
your lovely presence;
that quick-wit
and tantalizing girlish-giggle;
your
exuberant-talent for life and Love!
Zorro-steed
wild-Unicorn flying o’er emerald-meadow;
Thee astride in
“wild”-control urging him---faster;
And, in me soft
fantasy-dreams of thee, me girl,
a yellow-dress
bright as high noon sun flowing-free
as Zorro-boy
tastes Freedom-sweet gaining high
ground;
upon the
mountain slope teasing “Cool” tree line
flirting
with that 10,500
foot elevation where the air be thin and
heaven-blue embracing
cerulean-wonder---waiting…for
thee to visit
transported by the “spirit”-wild black towards
thy “secret”
cache where yonder is secreted your talent
music treasure,
a guitar, six stringed, stashed for “fun”
when time
allows. Thee sitting on the high-lonesome slope
strumming the
instrument for “happy”-comfort singing like a lark!
One day, maybe
soon, I shall join thee there and hum a lively tune.
Might? That
intelligent thee and humble-simple I should
contemplate-
Discuss me ole
friend Benoit Mandelbrot and his “fractal-geometry”
theory; thee
bring paper and pen and---I’ll provide the…star!
Hmm!
One day!?
Perhaps!? I’ll learn to “read and write”? I pray!
And, if I should, by some such luck, then
surely I’ll pen a tome!
But, me
Annie-Rie will devour the worded-pages like a computer.
I do believe
that Annie, thee, might read as much as---Nanny!
So? Let thy
“universe-wide” intelligent mind grasp these
words-of-import
from me to thee, a solemn: I love you!
In that now where I choose live, this instant
(snap) now gone
to usher in another,
perpetual, then (snap) and---on, and…on!
For---I have
loved thee even before thy blessed birth;
and more
each day on through each ’morrow dawn!
Happy
Birthday!
Darling-Anna Marie!
Love,
Nanny

Day 175
Lady on the
porch at the front door looking
In the window
& waiting at the garage door
on the day she
died.
Ole
Lady was our first horse; Boy! Was she ever a good one! Great!
She
taught us all to ride---once we caught her. She did not like to be caught.
She
moved with us on several occasions; our last stop with her was the Maeystown
farm; we had grown to a herd of seven critters, by then. She sure enough held
her own with the “youngsters”; and, she got to pretty much “retire” from being
ridden with all that horseflesh available. We had us some time; like when Becky
was three and we went on a trail ride at Easter down to the spring below our
property. (I wrote about that adventure in this volume a bit ago).
As
near as we can figure, based on our “limited” knowledge and the expertise of
the local vet, Ole Lady was about 32 years old the year of her passing; that’ a
dozen years above the average!
She
had a good life and provided us with many hours of enjoyment.
I
would cut her out of the herd in the pasture and allow her to free-graze in the
front yard which was about 3 acres of grass. The little (14.2
hands---about58-inches at the withers) was a pure white Welsh-pony with thick
mane and tail. Lady obeyed pretty good and at the end of the day I would return
her to the herd in the pasture; she’s just follow along and go in nicely.
But,
beginning about three days before she died, Lady insisted on trying to get into
our house.
She
would stand on the front porch looking in the window, or, if the garage door was
open, she would go in and stand by the house door or lay down on the concrete
floor and sleep.
One
morning I got up and looked out the bedroom window to the pasture and Lady was
laying in the pasture by the creek, gone to “horse”-heaven. She was a good ole
girl. I miss her.

Announcement & Thoughts & Day 174 CJSM

Day 174
Teaching Z.
Tyler to slide in
the sand on the
Oregon coast
I
“humbly” claim to have taught that boy everything he knows, but, I do not
remember this.
I
reckon Beth or Becky or even, Nanny taught him that trick.
He
is a “natural” athlete with tremendous ability and talent; nothing that boy
can’t do.
And,
our darling girls follow closely in his footsteps---Talent!...Galore!
Truth
is: To this day (Z. will soon be 30!) I still tell him I want to be just like
him, if I ever grow up. God forbid! (Uh! That is: the “growing up” part!)
We
sure enough thoroughly enjoyed our northwest sojourn; went to the ocean every
chance we got. Only a 50 minute drive to sand and surf; snow on the mountains
year-’round eastward.
The
Willamette Valley holds an attraction not unlike my precious Rockies and the
Pacific.
Lady
Candice is 5 days from “official” retirement from the library and she allows
that people come up and ask what she will do thereafter? Travel?
She
just politely smiles and says we did plenty of that when the kids were
young---with…us!
Amen!
