Day 66 CJSM

Day 66

Climbing the bluffs to find a
cedar tree to cut for Christmas

Always the “simple” way for the rebel, rascal rogue, rapscallion Independent-Individual!
Taught the kids the “value” of a simple manner; felt such led eventually to “virtue”.
In the faux-“modern” conclusion toward arcane “Traditional” considerations of held sacred beliefs like “old-fashioned” cherished habits such mentored-means seem esoteric by default.
That the “modern”-man assault upon every comfort desire based in a holy setting focused toward a “Thanksgiving” attitude for Life! For Love! For sanity! With an intent to offer Praise! Honor! Glory! To God with purposed alacrity as a humble servant becomes glaringly apparent with the blatant waged “war” by culture and society upon Faith! Family! Freedom! Pointed!
That rebel irreverence demands less than surreptitious-clandestine faux apology for long-held “Truths” as to the real meaning of Life and Love in generous gratitude for subtle base-‘religio”.
Such egregious insult as silver-tinsel hard-wire “Christmas?” trees to celebrate the Innocent’s holy birth-gift to mankind might, indeed, false-purchase a step up the proverbial “social ladder” toward some top. Remember! True! Those ye climbs over on the way up will be the same “losers” ye climb over upon thy way---down…for the count! Amen!
So? Laugh heartily at my ridicule-expense! Please! Do! “What other people think of me---is…none of my business!” (James Cavisel-actor) Thanks for that concise-succinct response.
We took our annual trek upon yon bluff to seek the “perfect” cedar tree; once spied, the saw brought down the ornament, hastily pruned away any sensed- imperfection. The evergreen then dragged from the woods to be conveyed toward home for standing in a tree-holder with water cavern filled as on the branches-green the “children” of all ages adorned the find with colored lights strung full, the added shiny “trinket” globe ornaments in myriad colors bright. Strands of silver tinsel then carefully hanged one single “icicle” at a time---until…a Perfection!-conclusion! The final touch to say “it’s done” a silver-red star upon the pinnacle---proud reaching…heaven!
So, now, the “kids” delight excited with the tradition complete, a collective “sigh” expectant.
And, “Santa” could show to leave the presents-fine with a twinkle in his loving eye to each:

“Merry Christmas! Good little boys and girls! Good night!”

Amen!

Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Traditional” Memories!
