Day 68
Candy and Carl
attend the State Farm conference
in the Dells,
Wisconsin and have dinner at the
Playboy Club
Very
first job out of college: State Farm Insurance. (Now---the real
education…begins!)
I
often ridicule my own ineptness at taming the trials and tribulations life
seems to constantly challenge us with; seeing “humor” in man’s folly of seeking
“success” I quip, in a self-deprecating spirit, “Yeah! I had a Job (just-over-broke) once---I didn’t
like it...too confining!”
People make fun of the “poor” souls who find
it necessary to be burdened with a “job”; I make a joke of the notion
confessing as the irresponsible recalcitrant, “Yeah! Seems they are just as
dumb and broke as I am! I had to work for a living, too. Now I’m on
welfare---Social Security!” Want a
lively discussion? Just broach that subject with the collective recipients!
Corporations treat their people pretty well
when you consider what they have to work with!?
I always was “Thankful” for the opportunity to
have a job and did the best I could to succeed.
We were fortunate to get a trip to the Playboy
Club at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, when I was employed by State Farm; they sent
the wives along, that year---Hmm! I saw old Gene, my co-worker get popped in
the ear by his bride when the “bunny” bent over in front of him. Now, I saw the
same “things” that he was ogling, but in quick defense confessed, “I was just
watching!”
Sometimes discretion is, indeed, the better part
of valor!? (I don’t have a cauliflower ear!)
Seated for dinner, the bunnies would serve the
courses by politely bending at the knee when delivering plates to the ladies in
the group, but, always leaning
provocatively over at the waist when serving the male clientele! Again, I was just watching! (Intently!)
After
a couple (no pun intended) of servings by the buxom-bunnies in such manner,
another co-worker, who was there with his very pregnant wife, took on a “gazed”
look, slowly chewing his parsley which hung precariously out of his mouth; he
was totally unaware; his eyes were busy, though, filled with the “talents” of
the buxom server. I’m sure his bride later reminded him of the impropriety! It
was probably a disciplinary lesson that he did not mind receiving. Ah!
Certainly!
I am no “innocent”! I love travel---especially enjoying…all the sights! Amen!
Ah! Cookie Jar “just watching” Sweet memories!
