Day 41
Picking
blackberries the size of
your thumb at
the old house
I
have a picture of “Lovely Lady Candice Leah” where she is picking blackberries
with Becky who is a little girl; I kept that framed photo on my desk at the
office. One of the secretaries saw it and commented, “Ah! The all-American
girl.” She sure was right!
My
life-ambition is easy---Simple! My
world is black and white; no ’50 shades of grey’. Just right or wrong, up or
down, good or evil. No obfuscations
(un-cleat) taboos for “Simple-me”!
Yeah,
I fully know---blackberry picking is “old-fashioned”; obsolete. Nobody does
that kind of foolish exercise…any more. We’re all sophisticated, erudite,
Royal-elite---absolute…phonies!
15
seconds of fame!? Not on your best
day! I’ll have none of it; not for 15 seconds nor for a thought! I’ve seen the
celebrity “sophisticates”---NO!...Thanks
all the same! Amen!
I’ll
take pleasure in “reality” enjoying the weather-of-the-day, watching birds,
feeling a gentle breeze, petting the horses, looking at those “perfect”
progeny, celebrating “simple” life.
Uh,
huh! We picked blackberries; still do. And, all fruit of God’s bounty. Raise a
vegetable garden, grow and plant trees from seeds. Nature is magical
and she does not care about status.
Neither
do I; never did, never will. “What other people think of me is none of my
business.”
Credit
for that insight goes to actor James Cavezil who portrayed Jesus in the Mel
Gibson movie, The Passion of the Christ
when an interviewer stated that Cavezil’s career was finished.
Wrong! Again. Mr.
“elite”. Nothing new; those kind are forever incorrect in any assessment.
So?
I choose “humble” life: cerulean skies, an alabaster full moon orb, four
seasons. Love!
And,
that “old house” comment? Well! We bought a farm and the old farmstead was a
mile off the county road; I built a new home a half mile from “civilization”.
The “old” house? Well! Now! I gave it to the kids to use as a clubhouse. Ah!
The grand-ole times of my life! Amen!

Jar Sweet Memories!
