Day 303
Becky, ”My 9th
birthday, it was dark and we
were on the back
deck. You gave me Stormy
for my
gift---best present…ever!”
Ole
“Santa Claus” does pretty good, most of the time---sometimes…he hits a Home-run!
My
penchant for “giving” is no secret; once in a while, I out-charity my charity.
I’ve
purchased a couple of hundred thousand dollars-worth of sports cars in my time
and space---but…I still don’t have
one (by design!). Plan to give away a few more before it’s over.
We
gave the girls a Morgan mare for Christmas one fine Eve; now, there is a gift. Gave Lovely Lady Candice Leah a
Morgan mare for her birthday, one fine year, too.
When
daughter Rachel turned nine, she sure enough had horses to ride, but, we gave
her a Morgan gelding name of “Stormy”
for her birthday that year. She promptly let me know she would like a harness to
train the steed to pull a buggy; sure enough, we got one.
She
loved that old brute with all her heart and did a fine job training him to
pull; yeah, we bought a buggy, too. I rode with her in Tennessee when she was
“teaching” Stormy to pull; I recall telling her that if he ever got a gander
around those blinders that I was immediately bailing out; Becky just laughed at
my “cowardice” and whipped him up some more! Yee! Haa!
Somebody
allowed that our Rachel-girl is a lot like her old-man; reckon that’s true
enough!
So,
here we find ourselves in October-Fall with warm days and cool nights---Perfect!...and on-course for good ole
Thanksgiving, our 51st Anniversary and the Grand-dam of them all: Christmas! Looks like a plethora
chock-full of Santa Claus-charity
opportunities! Alleluia!
I still "play" the lottery; won $100K 25 years ago being kind to a store clerk by buying a ticket an old lady refused. I felt sorry for the clerk because she had to buy the mistake ticket and didn't have a dollar so I bought the ticket to "save" her. I won! Missed $20-million by 1 number! I have won another $20k +/- in the last 1/4 century. I play because I want to be the "real" Santa Claus. I am nearly 100% non-materialistic, got way more than I need (or want), but I love being Santa!

Wonder
what surprise-goodies the old guy might unveil this season!? Hmm! Oh! Yeah!
Keep-the-Faith! My brothers
& sisters---ole Santa might surprise you…with
a “secret” gift!
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “Open-me-1st!”
Memories!
