Day 237
Games of
pool---Kelly-ball & 8-ball
One
of my “sins” toward evil-materialism personified
its presence in the form of a pool table.
Over
the years, we had a “few”; like the swimming-pools---I
sold every one of them.
Looking
back over a half century (Wow!), I reckon my “divergences” were for the kids---
anyway, that’s as good an excuse as any…and, nobody can challenge my
recollections! Hmm! I do confess that I managed to fully enjoy life; giving-to-others
is the cherry on top of the sundae.
We
played some pool---sure enough! I taught the kids a lot of “vices”; sure did
enjoy “8-ball’, “9-ball”, “bottle-pool” (a.k.a. Billiards played with the red 3-ball and the black 8-ball and a
small wooden bottle) and “Kelly”. And, I
never won a single game! Yeah! They were that
good!
Pool
wasn’t my only shortcoming and not the only “evil” I taught the offspring---one
fine Sunday, I kept Becky home from Sunday School and taught her to play games
of…Poker!
Oh!
It’s okay! I let her win all my money then, too. Hell! The kids had it all anyway.
I
have bartered a few horses over the years and have purchased a small fleet of
very nice sports cars (I still don’t
have one!). For Lady Candice’s 40th birthday, I gave her a red
Mustang GT with a white convertible top; two months and one day later, she gave
the chariot to Becky on her 16rh birthday! Wow!
Now there is Christian-generosity---personified!...and,
practiced!
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “My break!” Memories!
