Lake Storm
Relaxing on yon
clubhouse porch in respite
Any imagined
problem, decide I, to forget it
Solitude under
shading comfort of old huge red oak
Subtle wind
change have my sharpened senses woke
Thunderheads
tower tall on far horizon yonder
Lightning shards
portend fear awesome wonder
Rolling rumbles
rattling roughly on a trained ear
Still, too many
myriad miles away to clearly hear
Acute aware now
of impending stealthily evil danger
Clandestine
tempest in disguise, obfuscated stranger
Sweet smell of
freshness harbored on tossed air
Purple-green
robe does front approaching wear
A cooling breeze
precedes the torrent threatened
White flashes
streak as echoing crashes deafened
Upon the quaking
black-chop surface of the lake
Wind-swept crests
of wild white-caps dance wake
In safe harbor
on headland beyond violent fray
Appreciate show
of fearsome powerful display
Tranquil times
return when turbulence has passed
Such slight
disruption of good day simply can’t last
Good versus evil
battles in lifetime are daily fought
Victory
proclaimed, the altercation fleeting thought
Value refuge in
pure light of saintly virtue glow
Saved soul in
Father, Son and Holy Spirit flow
