Faith!? Excuses! & What can I do?

A Sunday Sermon

God calls each of us to be His messenger. At inception, the Master already had a plan for our life. He beckons us to walk with Him, to be so full of His Love that others will see the joy in us and desire what it is that we possess. “Christianity”, it has been alleged, cannot be taught; the concept must be caught. Example teaches---best; desire of Grace catches---best! Amen!
If you think that you could never live like that? Faith! Friend! Faith! Give it a try!
Following are a list of some of the greatest people of the Bible. Each of them held reasonable conviction as to why God could not and would not choose them. Nice try!

Consider these excuses; then, next time you feel God can’t use humble you, just remember:

Jacob was a liar     Noah was a drunk
Leah was ugly        Gideon was afraid
Abraham was too old         Isaac was a daydreamer
Job went bankrupt             Zaccheus was too small
Peter denied Christ                        Paul was too religious
Elijah was suicidal             Rahab was a prostitute
Timothy had an ulcer        Naomi was a widow
Jonah ran away from God’s call
Moses had a speech impediment
Martha was a perpetual worrier
Isaiah thought himself unworthy
Joseph was abused by his brothers
The disciples fell asleep while praying
At Jesus’ arrest, they all forsook Him and fled
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer
Jeremiah and Timothy thought they were too young
David had an affair with a married woman and murdered her husband
The Samaritan woman who spoke to Jesus at the well was five times divorced

And, the most decided of all excuses:

Lazarus was Dead!

So? What is your excuse? Whatever it is, God can still use you to your full potential!
After all, you are not the message---
You are only the…messenger!

Amen? Amen!

What can I do? Perhaps: Begin

Oh! Such big problems! If only they understood
My free advice: He could! She should! I would!

Issues monumental! Demon-evil challenges inspected
Exacerbated trouble? Culprit? Image mirror-reflected

But! Unfair! It’s not me! Innocence proclaimed!
My little world! My church! My town! Refrained

Issues just too convoluted-difficult for intense introspection
My fault? Guilt? Not in my lexicon concordance inspection

“Not my problem! Nothing I can do! Some other must step-up
Places to go! Things to do! People to see! Is it time for sup?

Faith! Friend! Freely follow fervently omniscient Creator’s call
Promote: “Right!” Simply do: “Good!” Avoid pernicious pitfall

Out West Salida Rocky Mountain-way a leathered rock-hound sits
Sample-filled wood battered box challenges his vast knowledge-wits

Acknowledged him to turn North seeking mountain Arabian-herd
Found Deity along the river bank while sighted awesome eagle-bird

Crystal hailstone-ice pierced clear cerulean space on wild temper-storm
Clumsy-stumbled, bumped hard head, attention got, began sense to form

Vista-awesome nature finally found right there before seeing-blind eyes
High Rocky-beauty white-cotton puffs punctuate pure sapphire skies

Rumble-thunder hoofs of Arabian horses fly tundra choreographed
What might I do? Appreciate! Capture miracle mind-photographed

Seek Love! For, of and by within this fantastic gift- journey---Life!
Passion kiss! Embrace tight! Sense beauty pure! Dare ban all strife!

Clear solution-answers to faux fears surface surely from within
’Tis not they but, rather, I must face-confess evil-burden guilty sin

Lord! Pray I! Let me first display Your “Love” bestowed as best I can
I could! I should! I would! Always to Your Praise! Honor! Glory! Stand
Amen!
