Rainbows! Butterflies! And, Unicorns!
(Dreams of little children; and,
those young-at-heart)
’Tis true! I believe: Little boys never
grow up. What a statement! Wow! Revelation!
Perhaps the truth-of-the-matter comes
in form of an old man’s finally accepted realization.
Well! Just---Maybe? There seems to be a
four-year-old trapped in here; once, I would have admitted to the urchin as aged
of “twelve”; I’m now not at all sure he has that level of maturity.
How might one survive this world for
nearly seven decades and confess such transgression as truth? Or,
enlightenment? Or, even, comfort? “The truth shall set you free”!? I guess? I
hope!
Truly, I humbly pray that such
assessment is totally accurate. Amen!
But, then, from that innocent view of
reality, naïve sophistication, as it were, I am the consummate “Dreamer”.
Seldom, if ever, “serious” about nearly each and every event of life.
Is that such a “bad” omen in a world
laced with anxiety? Replete with the evil twin step-sisters: Worry and Fear?
Pernicious sirens who steal your life’s energy and destroy creativity.
I’d rather contemplate the rainbow than
fear the awesome thunderstorm. For humble me, the chase is on to view the
beauty of a “flutter-by” caught in a golden sun shaft dancing on a wild-wind-swirl.
Or climb any summit to glimpse an eagle from above---Awesome-Wonder! Amen!
And, this rebel, rascal, rogue did enjoy
the opportunity to ride some very fine horses in my time and space, thanks to a
precious child who caught horse-fever at an early age and insisted on having
one. Since those wishes, fulfilled by doting parents, the “Dreamer” has come to
challenge and eagerly partake of the Romance-of-Life! Indeed! My spirit soars
un-tethered from this gravity-bound earth astride the majesty of a silver-white
winged powerful unicorn where I have dared lick the nectar sugar-sweet delight
of dreams. “Yum!-Yum! Good!”
A Bedouin adage: No wind so free as
blows between an Arabian horse’s refined ears!
Good: I cherish “Being in Love!” Better
still: the “Idea” of falling in love! Best: Loving Life!
So, in some ultimate end, as in any
fresh beginning, lament not an “Innocent”-naïve.
Pray! Thee! Rather, perspicacious
purposeful desirous intention for child-like free-reward: “Adventure!”
Happiness exists; is at hand; waiting for eyes to “see” and hearts to grasp!
Don’t wait! Time has slipped away; space is running short. Listen! Carefully:
Tick-Tick-Tick!
Dare chase: Rainbows! Butterflies! And,
Unicorns! A new day dawns! Life: Awaits! Still.
With God’s Blessing! I offer a challenge
to thee---Do it…Now!
Live: Free! Live: Young! Live:
Courage! Live: Wild! Live: Life!
Amen!
