Day 186
Mom teaching
Beth to sew
Candy
is the all-American girl; that lady
can do anything and make it look easy.
She is “up” for Any wild adventure I might fantasize and then try to actually
experience. No complaints! No wet blanket! Just a supportive attitude and “Gung
Ho!” What a gal!
She
can cook, clean, wash, decorate, bake, officiate, participate, lead, follow,
excite, dream.
Naturally,
she can sew; Candy made most of her gorgeous outfits over the years and having
two beautiful daughters gave her impetus to create for them. Christmas was a
huge deal each year as Lady Candice created matching outfits for her girls;
they delighted in the tradition.
Nanny
taught Beth and Becky to sew; Beth followed every rule; Becky “winged” it.
Seems
one of them is much like the old man! Hmm! You decide which one.
Mom
showed them how to pick out a pattern, choose the “just right” material,
buttons, trim, zipper. They laid out the material in the correct configuration,
laid the pattern on it and pinned it, cut out the fabric, carefully sewed
everything together, ironed the finished product---wore it!
Thanks!
Nan! For all you do for each of us---and…Thanks
for never making me---a…dress!
Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet “sewing lessons” Memories!
