Escape to Return
She despised the
mirrored reflection of a “nobody”
Desired she
desperately to be just any “somebody”
Vacant of
personality or talent, even plain of looks
Could find even
little shine by cracking of the books
At long last
caught a guy through tricky dimension
Mommy
embarrassed when daddy was sent to prison
Moved far away
with hubby to a job upon a tall mountain
So many parties
she held in fine yard displaying a fountain
Her philandering
spouse she just could not trust
Caught him
repeatedly sipping evil lake of joy-lust
Letters homeward
she sent of her great royal life
To vacant
vice-president banker a most loyal wife
His impudent
altered dalliance cost his coveted position
Concocted a lie
to hide the perverted failed co-mission
We’re moving
back home ’cause daddy’s been paroled
With a huge
fanfare soiree her friends patently cajoled
Sunday paraded
to cult-church in her very best of dress
That practiced
fake smile planned to hide utter distress
Right back where
she started to try once again
Hated mirrored
reflection of life deceived in sin
Some sad-awful
story-tales to tell are really hard
Dare break the
glass, find reflected puzzle shard
