Trees!

 

I think that I shall never see

a poem lovely as a tree...

I learned this poem in 8th-grade---loved-it...still-do!

 

So---I went out and planted a "few"...10-thousand +!

 

Last summer and fall I started some more trees with maple-seeds

from late-spring and Ginkgo and oak from the fall-showing.

 

Watered and tended the seedlings through the winter-months;

just transplanted the survivors to a large pot for the summer-growing.

 

The trees, shrubs and some flowers will go to Becky's-farm.

 

I already christened the land "Fox-Lake" since it reminds me so much of

the little fishing club my dad belonged to when I was a kid; sometimes,

I call her property "The-Farm", my other hangout as a kid. Two of the

places I loved; the 3rd was my home town where I grew up. Wow!

 

Glad to "help" the "earth" with the greenery; truly wish some of the

"celebrities" who are always complaining about "evil"-man ruining

the planet for all of us might go out and plant a tree, or two, also.

 

Reckon it's just easier to call-out the perceived-problem rather than

making a "simple-humble" effort to be part of the "solution"!?

 

Anyway, I'd be just amazed if these faux-heroes ever did anything-real!

 

So?---Well!...I'll just do what I think is "right" and forget the idiots (idols)!

 

Maybe I'll try to plant 100-thousand trees---because...I love Mother Nature!
Not much on "goal-setting"---too much disappointment...more of a "do-er"!

(Maybe?---if...I live long-enough and get "real"-ambitious!)

 

I's sure-enough like to show her "respect" with myriad plantings!
