Save-the-world!? Hmm!

 

Save-the-world!?---Really!?...Hmm!

 

 

I have been exceedingly-blessed--always...and, "un-deserving"!?

 

Had an absolutely Great-family from little on. Thank Thee!

 

When I was 12, I thought I wanted to "Save-the-world"! Wow!

 

"Worthy-ambition"!---I reckon-so...but, a "bit" naïve!?

That was the same year I took the seminary-entrance exam.

 

Shortly thereafter, I nixed the priesthood-idea and made a

conclusive studied-determination that the world did neither

"want" to be saved nor did it deserve salvation. Hmm!

 

Of course, now into "mature"-years (I often-wonder about that), if

the opportunity came about that I could actually "Save-the-world",

would I do whatever the challenge required of (simple-humble) me?

 

Two nights ago, I spent the evening in an Emergency Room with

my ailing 91-year old mother suffering a heart-condition. Thankfully,

all turned out "negative" and we took Mom home! Amen!

 

Sitting in the E. R. waiting room, an elderly gentleman approached

my area and was hunched over and in quite obvious distress. After

all, he was in a hospital E. R., but he was in dire need of attention.

 

He "hobbled" (slowly and laboriously) into the "men's" restroom.

In several minutes he came out, looking confused and pained. He

struggled to the drinking-fountain sipping at the cold water. When

he turned to retrace his steps, the man went down on his knees in pain.

 

Now, there were at least 50 people in that crowded E. R., many had  

a "clear"-view of the distressed man, but, nobody (including-me)

helped. (In today's world, I understand. Salving my reluctance!?)

 

One woman immediately got up and went to the old man's aid! Wow!

She helped him reach a chair next to mine and fetched a nurse.

 

"Christian-generous"-me (so proud of my Faith-belief) failed to act.

 

Oh! I heartily applauded the real Christian-attitude woman among us.

I wanted to shake her hand, but, my own was sadly un-worthy of her.

 

The nurse took the man away; I did not see him again. Hope he's okay!

 

"Save-the-world"?---Hmm!...Couldn't even lend a needed helping-hand.

 

Sure-enough reckon-so real-"Heroes" are few and far between! True!

 

Maybe!?---just a "little" Christian-generosity might...Go-a-long-way!

 

So? Maybe I'll try to smile a bit more, complain a whole-lot less.

 

It's raining tonight. Okay! I'm just "on-visit" here. I choose to enjoy it!

 

"Our Father...Thy kingdom-come...Thy will be done..." Amen!

The "word" is---Thy...not "my"! Practice: (simple-humble me)!?

 

No! I am not "important"! But, maybe I can initiate some "Peace"!?

 

"Let there be Peace on earth and let it begin with me." Amen!

And, just How!?---I do know this answer...Truth! Truth! Truth!

 

And---Dear Lord...give me another chance and I'll try to do...Better!

 

Faith! Family! Freedom! Might just be all there really---Is!

In one eternal instant the only mercy-blessing will be...His!

 

I know this to be true!---Reckon...I just need to practice it! Amen!

Thank God!---for...Smart-people! Heroes! And, true Christians!

"Save-the-world!?"---maybe...I'll just settle for..."Save-me!"
