Santa
Claus and Frosty
In a little country village setting, some decades
now past
A boy enjoyed life’s production and so loved the
special cast
Prayed he such a splendid fantasy would longer than
forever last
Christmas Magic in the air when each year is nearly
done
With school and church and family, his days were
intently fun
Life for the pure joy-of-living and his time had
only just begun
Money might be scarce, no one would ever mention
Love provided all the little children’s required
attention
Lessons taught and virtue learned begot generous
ascension
By age of twenty it was Santa Claus he wished to be
Pushed life flat out, head first, foot loose and
spirit fancy free
Tried he to emulate that perennial jolly snowman
aptly titled “Frosty!”
Found truth in “Better to give than to receive”
Whatever they may desire or need, he would conceive
The world to each, satiate spiritual needs, which he
did perceive
A single orange, his father’s Christmas, one bleak
year
Thankful and overjoyed, but the telling brought his
grandma’s tear
From those saints before, now gone, he learned to
Santa Claus and Frosty hear
Praise God in Faith! As His Word so sacred say
Honor Family! Through Love in Santa’s one horse
sleigh
Glory to Freedom! Believe Frosty will reappear one
fine day
Should, dare I, make the world a better plan
Just love God and extend to lowly man a helping hand
A holy challenge to live like Santa and that Frosty
snowman
This United States---Love it or leave it
This precious Life---Live fully and do not deceive
it
This sacred challenge---Like Santa and
Frosty…venture to believe it
Amen!
And---
Innkeeper
Holy Mary, Joseph sojourn to
Bethlehem attend
No welcome for expectant mother
did anyone extend
“Full house” a host’s prized
perfect dream
Double price, five times, then
ten, the scheme
Offered travelers quarter in
rustic stable nook
Unread the King’s arrival in
Spirit holy Book
Not aware the baby, Jesus born,
mankind’s Savior
Might display a little class,
show a bit saintly behavior
Must have felt uncomfortable
twinge of danger
Viewing celestial star above our
Redeemer’s manger
Awakened to the herald angel
clarion trumpet call
Announcing God’s Son birth to
shepherd and to all
Blessed Virgin mother’s Son lay
in a crib of hay
Lowly animals bow respect and
glory, honor pay
Innkeeper impressed by gifts
three wise men bring
While heaven endowed man with our
greatest King
Had he only known then, offered
his own house for sure
For Him, of you and me, keep each
spirit-soul pure
Profit room-renter, in
reflection, offered forgiveness prayer
Confess, we humbly ask redemption
in His Light full glare
Forget know Him when we stumble
and fall?
Wear Faith, badge of honor,
always to stand tall
Where found I on God’s sanctified
Salvation tree?
On the holy path pray I led my
loving Family
Bestowed free will to live
Christian values come
Choose virtuous decisions to honor
true Freedom
Have, even I, worshiped Him more
than an ancient hotel man?
Humble me, Lord, to become near,
at least, like a holy man
Amen!
