A syncopated raindrop-beat on yon roof above

Precise-cadenced march ever-so-slightly amiss

Mother Nature-melody on cooling wind-whisper

Porch swing chains creak mild complaint-requite

Lyric-thoughts to contemplate in respite-divine

 

Silver-maple! Giant white-oak! Shellbark-hickory!

All their kindred siblings, cousins with varied-kin

Rain-cleansed in regal-Royal emerald-gown finery

Green-grass refreshed in satiated-quenching comfort

Cardinal! Yellow tanager-iridescent! Choir-serenade!

 

Oh! Sweet-freshness! Thou! Wild-spirit Unicorn-soar!

Deep-breathe “new-life”-scent upon yon eternal-abyss

A lass, his sailboat plays; lassie splash a water-puddle

Shep-dog on his back in whitetail-meadow chase-dream

Wafting-supper delight from Mom’s café-kitchen yonder

 

Garden-fare---tasty-vegetables…seems they grew an inch

Emerald-green plants dance a stirring whisper-wind waltz

A daring-rabbit forages---Hmm!?...Reckon he has to eat, too

Quiet! Then. The storm has passed leaving all is good---still

Eastward-there a lightning-flash then thunder-roll…Adieu!

Gone-“talent” has spent its intent-to-Love! onto future space

 

Drip-soft abandoned-raindrop beat leaf-clinging relent

Soar in life’s last-plunge to meet the fate-necessary fine

Care-tender nature’s bounty-need for liquid divine-kiss

Flow creek and river bank-full expand yonder diamond-lake

Ocean-far horizon sun-shaft silver-touch deep-blue crest-white

 

Each second-blink one-thousand times a lightning-strike

Storm-fury delights her earthly-kin in gentle-tease repeat

A pleasure-trove for mankind-amusement treasure? Perhaps!

More that, fool-poet’s confounded-wish to faux-misrepresent

Sweet-fragrant delight---a “Rose”…even by any other name!

 

Bright-lighten iron-grey thinning-cloud gold-hint eternal-sun

Cerulean-break game hide-’n-seek comes purist azure-please!

Observant-eye to Mother-dear glint-water leaf desperate-cling

Wind-tease in aid ole-gravity to pull yon reluctant-droplet free

Vapor sparkle-cross liquid-view a Crystal-raindrop Sun-dance
