Day 202
Dance lessons in
the basement of the Capitol Theater---
Brush!
Step! Ball! Chain!...
Beth took dance lessons when she was very
young; they were conducted at the local show building known as the Capitol”
Theater in Waterloo. Each week I would slep her to the venue for her dance
lesson; I do not recall how long this went on. I do remember Brush! Step! Ball! Chain!
Whatever the kids wanted, we somehow made it
happen. Yeah! I know: Spoiled!
True enough! I purposely spoiled them---and…as best I could, Lovely Lady Candice
Leah.
But, they never behaved like some “spoiled
brats”; they turned out like I should have?
My
epitaph might well accurately be: Mamma tried! (So sorry! Mom!) I
meant better.
No
complaints with our children. Each is Perfect!
As are our Grandchildren. Umm! Hmm!
We
adore each of them. They make us---Proud!...always.
Once
or twice in seven decades I actually had a couple of nickels to rub together,
and, I can handle that scenario; I’m used to it---lots of “focused” practice! C’est
la vie!
But,
my (metaphoric) golden crown is embedded with seven perfect gems. To wit:
Lovely Lady
Candice Leah! Beth! Becky! Z. Tyler! Lauren! Lexi! Anna Marie!
Nobody “trumps”
that full house---nobody…ever!
Amen!
