Day 19-Cookie Jar Sweet Memories Plus Christmas!

Day 19

Visiting Uncle Freddy & Aunt Lil each time we

returned from Tennessee to visit Illinois relatives

“Family” has always been of  “primary importance” to me.

Thus, my mantra: Faith! Family! Freedom!” That sacred banner waves unfurled on a golden gonfalon as does the old “Red, White and Blue” adorning the flagpole in our yard. S-a-l-u-t-e!

Blessed from the very beginning with fine family on both sides of my lineage, my only true hope for life was that my family be safe, healthy and Happy! When Z. Tyler came along, I voiced that hope to Nanny saying, “All I want for him is a “happy” life!” You all have had it.

Moving twenty-one hundred miles from “home”, everything any of us had ever known, took some brave decision making, a raft of money and a crazy ramrod fearless for adventure. Yeah!

We made sure to “visit” the forsaken kin tethered to the hot, humid mid-west while enjoying our sabbatical to the “hinter-lands” with numerous “vacations” to the “old” country.

That Family! Enunciation in my trinity-mantra definitely includes both relatives and “friends”. Fortunately, most of our “blood”-relatives were true friends, so that conclusion was easy enough. Life’s panacea results from conclusions arriving from “Good” decisions. Amen!

And, we made the rounds whenever we returned to the homeland for a visit.

Freddie and Lil were like grandparents to Nanny and I; I know you girls and Z. Tyler felt the same way. They were, indeed, very special people whom we dearly love and now miss.

But, there were so many very fine people in my life---always! Just…lucky, I reckon!

And, they just keep coming. Wow!

I have deduced that the virtue in these “saints-among-us” pleasure a sacred virtue: Quality!

It is a blessing bestowed to be part of such an “elite” communion-of-angels here on earth!

In my Christmas message for December 26, 2016, I will name many of these “Royals”.

Until the unveiling, suffice it to say, “It has been my honored pleasure to know each of them.”

Every dawn promises sunrise which offers events portending adventure! Don’t miss it!

Amen!

Ah! Cookie Jar Sweet Memories!

Christmas Eve Miracle!

In a peaceful valley meadow
Watched a vigilant shepherd boy
Came celestial angel vision
“Follow yonder heaven star”
God bestows eternal Joy

Through ebony soft velvet
On rustic stable country town
Father Joseph looking on
Blessed Virgin Mary mother
Soft white snowflakes drifting down

Lay Infant sweet in rustic manger hay
Adoring man and creatures knew
Innocent born to this world
Almighty Gift to one and all
Savior King swaddled in a blanket blue

One sacred more redemption Chance
God’s Love refreshed again
Live free in righteous dignity
Peace on His holy earth
Good heaven-Will to men

Millennia doubled later
In a country barn lot staging
On a snowy Christmas Eve
Children actors dressed the part
Played out His hallowed paging

Joseph-Zachariah Tyler
Anna Marie-Blessed Virgin Mary mother
Newborn Zachariah Farrell-Jesus

Redeem each generation
On this cold calm holy site

There, in a peaceful little valley

Upon the land of milk and honey
Bless this faithful congregation

Infinite universe continuum
Eternal heaven there above
At a beginning circle ending
Of expanding heart emotion
Holy Trinity-filled Love

Caught again in evil snare
Savior birth, my Spiritual altar

In presence of His Awesome Wonder
On bended knee, please forgive trespass
Soul is human nature stained
Spirit in His Deity image made
In benevolent virtue I confess

Christian years keep on a-mounting
My “Book of Life” empirical
