The ninth month

September

Fleecy white clouds traverse a cerulean sky
Temperatures cooling as less warm days fly by

Blue-winged teal begin their early migration
Pre-cursor fall winds stir still water gyration

Search place to hunt in populated world slanted
Kind leather-faced farmer pronounces “Permission granted”

Duck blind constructed with camouflage corn stalks
Lure in the “V’s” with protracted duck call talks

Watch the birds set their wings, get ready right now boys
A most beautiful show as they flair amongst decoys

This good day has dawned and lived and gone
Setting sun chorus hums this hunter’s song

Tomorrow at sunrise in that early cold dew
Once more find treasure as onward they flew

Ever southward to some ancient calling nesting place
Over white cotton ball puffs follow unseen sky trace

While in the right rhythm of God’s good clean earth
Life cycle continues with each new day’s birth

Amen!
