Remember---When!?

 

Congratulations! Graduate!

 

 

Ah! At---long...last! 8th grade Graduation!

Seems like only "yesterday" was my 1st day of kindergarten.

And---Voila! 13 years later...Graduation!

(4 long years in 3rd grade really hurt! Wow!)

 

Could not wait for the high school sentencing to end.

(Ha! Did that stint in only 4 years! Well---4...and, a half)

 

What a world "they" left us!

But---we'll "fix" it with our intelligent words and deeds.

Yeah! Right!

 

Well! We had our---hopes...and, dreams!

Yes! Siree! Umm! Hmm!

 

Got a "problem"? Ever even hear of one? Really!?

 

Want to see the cause of troubled issues?

Do you? For sure? Really? Okay!

 

Get a mirror and see the culprit---YOU!

 

But---there is good news...the solution is:

Also: YOU!

 

That's right---boys and girls...Uh, I mean, Graduates.

 

So? Where from here? Easy! Onward and upward.

 

Okay! So, what did you do---yesterday!

What are you going to do today?

And, how about tomorrow?

 

I love "intellectual" conversations with the "L" thinkers.

Of course, I am the "old" white conservative guy causing global warming.

Of course, I drive the gas guzzling dinosaur "lead sled" destroying ozone.

Of course---etc. etc. etc....ad infinitum!

 

And, when they come up for "polluted" air from a litany tirade

I smile (I am polite---on occasion) and say, simply:

May I ask you a question? Oh! "Universe-Savior".

How many trees have you planted?

 

As they ponder my query with deserved skepticism I answer

my very own thought provoking question with:

Humble I have planted over ten thousand trees.

 

They are surviving quite well in a "lost" world of my making.

 

Do something positive other than accuse and point!

 

Don't worry so much about what "other" people think of you---

be glad you actually do not know...you might cut your own throat.

(If it is so important to "belong", how come you seldom do?

 

For your profound "Thank you!" (for the trees) 

I reply, simply, "You're welcome!" (on behalf of the trees---and...earth) 

 

To my admonition I add, humbly---Please!
