Tomorrow Touch?
Again when dawn breathes life to
morning promise
Believe then I shall time touch,
no doubting-Thomas
Aunt Mary Ann abandoned-vacant
fragrant bed of flower
Farmer Wilbert ’neath the sod,
not evermore a “plow”-er
And Daddy-dear can’t play catch
with a little boy in tears
While Mama smiles from heaven
knowing deserted fears
A scarlet-card posted for
Valentine to mend a broken hearted
Jilted intended recipient not
home. Alas! Eternally departed
Spring rains tempt wild Morels to
pop, but Gramps has left the building
No more cherry custard pie from
Grams laced with sweet love’s gilding
Red rockets’ glare surreal eerie
shadowing the cemetery marble stones
Blinded-dead eyes stare empty
vision in hot purgatory cleansing atones
“One day” proclaim again vow
finally to live---“Tomorrow!”
Survivor tears shed not for thee-loss but rather for me-sorrow
Mother Nature’s vibrant palette
paintbrush wielded wild
Autumn-pleasure appreciated to
any attuned who smiled
“Home-y” aroma-warmth embraced cherished
family around
Enjoy a roasted turkey-feast
delight among loved-ones abound
Utter not one solitary complaint
against ice-snow winter-event
Dare march head of the sacred
parade on celestial heaven-bent
And “Thank You! Lord!” For one
more chance to challenge try
So blessed be lowly me that today
I might finally attempt to fly
“Oh! Holy Night!” Dearly departed
cannot reverently partake
Christmas is the best of time
each day of life we purpose make
Lament not victim me for what the
past has wrongf’lly wrought
Fear not! In courage harvest
happy times purely stark-white sought
Eschew all lies! Find peace
within thy own true-time where
Savor sugar-sweet life-breath in
hand and heart dare share
Amen!
