1st Communion! Remembered!
Lovely Lady Candice Leah and I have been searching far and wide
for 1949 edition of the Baltimore Catechism which version I used
way "back-n-the-day" studying for my holy-sacred 1st Communion.!
The cover on my "long-lost" copy was a beautiful light-blue background
picturing a boy in a suit and tie and a girl in a brilliant white lacey dress.
Each had their hands reverently folded and were walking down a church aisle.
Inside that book were the "reverent" teachings of the Catholic Church! Perfect!
About 2 years ago, give or take, Candy wrote to a guy in Philadelphia
explaining what we sought; he is an "old-book" dealer. He found one!
We got a letter from him recently and the Catechism arrived, Friday.
So close! The cover is blue and sports Jesus' Glorious Resurrection. Close!
My copy was fairly thin with a light-weight "paper" cove; this one is
heavy-stock and the text is very elaborate, mor for an adult. Very-nice!
Mine was "lighter" on instruction, geared more to a "child" capability.
The "new" one we just received is an instructional on "old" Catholicism!
Pre-dating the infamous and devastating 1962 Vatican II Encyclical. this
version is Reverent on Truth! Inspiring on God & Church holy-sacred Law!
Reading the worthy-words leads to a Satiated-Spirit of Peace-through-Love!
We'll keep an eye-out for an exact copy of my cherished "lost"-copy!
But---this fine "gift" born of Love!...Works just right for now. Thank you!
Truly! It's always the "little"-things in life that actually matter the-most!
"Who made us?" "God made us!" "Why?" How?" "Purpose?" Etc. Amen!
Amen!
