A Lament!!!

A Wraith’s-Lament!

(a Spirit-song)

I’m ‘bout a-hundred miles-out to home west-sun high-noon

Flashed by a yonder-glow-on alabaster-pale full-moon

Seems ’tis never day-nor-dark rather a-swirl of obfuscated-fog

Caught in a-tale within a-book between the “pro” and “epilog”

A forlorn-call to-surgery somewhere way-off in black-sleep

Awake to bright stars in a dark-escape of-time and space cosmos-deep

Saints and Angels! Myriad pervade hymn-song celestial-realm

Non see-me as total-lost free-float with no-one at the-helm

I’m bout fifty-miles-out to home west-sun high-noon

Flashed by a yonder-glow-on alabaster-pale full-moon

Went by the-house only to-find a-family of vacant-strangers there

Grown five-years was Jimbo-boy and Sally-Ann absent a single-care

Confused, I spoke a word while each ignored daddy’s plaintive-call

A faceless-man’s arm ‘round your-waist seemed awful brazen-gall

Though I strive and hope for-home these 20-miles refuse to-total decrease

I’m-there?! - - - And, yet so very far-away… a “soul-spirit” of body-deceased

Where? Find a-trace? A-path? A-trait! Leading to those Pearly-Gates?

A-dream?-nightmare? Eternal “gypsy”-wandering? Is this my-fate?

I’m bout a-hundred miles-out to home west-sun high-noon

Flashed by a yonder-glow-on alabaster-pale full-moon

Amen! - - - Amen! ... Salvation! I do-pray!

A wraith’s-lament - - - sing his sad-song …yonder he’ll be-along
