Baseball & Life each present their own special brand of uniquely offered profound privileges and outstanding opportunities for any, or all, to partake in anticipation of exquisite enjoyment; the former being, in every subtle sense, refined nuance, practiced creativity, observed rules and celebrated participation a microcosm mirrored-image reflection of the latter, in every respect. To discern such intelligent sensitivity requires a humble appreciation demanding precise observance of both the exactly proscribed and understood obvious rules set forward to preserve the honor and integrity of either game. Respect naturally flows to participants; yet, deny love or transgress the paradigm of demarcation regarding inflexible parameters regarding right or wrong, fair or foul, safe or out, ball or strike and either game will exact its irrevocable price; baseball in a prescribed penalty for the sin; life’s exactitude in more egregious consequences. To satiate the benefactor gods of benevolence, simply cherish proud the very honor it is to play. Keeping score in either discipline becomes superfluous to the ultimate outcome. How so? The value is in the very participation; in life by the act of living; in baseball by the honor of crossing onto the field across that white, gleaming foul line. In a word: To win is to play! The Game of God is beyond greatness so that its integrity withstands even the most errantly vile attempts to discredit, even, to destroy its very fabric as it offers but only a slight glance at the shadow of superior intelligence of the Creator. Indeed, the game is too good for mere mortals; the explicit challenge comes for man to test worthy of exaltation of the contest through fair play of the game and of honor itself.
