That-seductive song-of-life spirits a dance-to-challenge-Love!

Filed-memories sequestered-soft as down-fluff on a white-dove

 

A-daily neighborhood-sojourn mid-morn taking-in the-sights to-see

Filigree-shaded sun-shafts waves-golden in-yonder emerald-canopy

 

Turn the-corner at Bayberry Lane spying Angela on her yard-swing

A friendly-smile! Little-girl giggle! No-want nor care nary anything

 

Her pearly-whites inviting as the sparkle-sun gracing yon cerulean-sky

Blue-jays! Cardinals! Hummingbirds! Butterflies! Hue-color flutter-by

 

Miss-Angie waves her-personality! “Hi! Sunshine!” I-call in-response

Her tiny-world sublime! My-place delicious-each sacred instance-once

 

On to the park to spy some-golfers in festive color-dress a-block away

Respite on-the-bench with ice-cream while I-watch little children-play

 

The-seat is-hard, the treat-cool so-sweet while I-reflect quiet-tenderly

Decades-lived! Piled-high! Each-event! -Adventure! A Love!-specialty

 

Returning-home by-way of Bayberry Lane little-Angie’s swing is-stilled

Its-rope cries tears-sad to-run upon the wooden-seat now sudden-chilled

 

Oh! It’s okay! Yon-swing! Miss-Angela will return upon the promised-’morrow

She’ll come-play and sing and dance and soar-to-heaven to-quell your any-sorrow

 

And---with that Hope!-promise…the play-toy conveyance seemed satiated

A-swing can-wait for yon new-dawn---Old-men!?...Time may-be debilitated

 

My little-ones! Girls and-boy! Grew-up too-soon! To-live! Then, slowly slide-away

They visit! True! And, love-me still---and…always! Absent on some lonely-days

 

But---in these Precious-memories…a tender-heart filled with-Love! Then-&-future!

Alas! My birthday rolls-around! The “kids” all-come with ice-cream and coconut-cake

We celebrate with a-walk by Bayberry Lane and see Little-Angela! For heaven’s-sake!
