Blessings!
(taken from a
borrowed Sunday-sermon)
Caught dawdling
with my chariot’s radio in the
“pick-up”-order
drive-thru line at a fast food
service-store, Mrs. Patience behind me laid on her
blaring horn,
rolled down her side window and let
fly an avalanche
of vile-“expletives” enough to
make a sailor
blush while “single’-diget saluting me.
Being un-kind to
me sainted-mother and cursing
“simple-humble”
I black and blue to black, again,
she ignored her
crying 4-children, save to administer
some un-tamed
tongue-lashing in their direction, also.
When I, at
long-last, arrived to the pick-up window,
I asked the
attendant to add the tab of the car behind
me, along with
5—strawberry sundaes, to my bill,
which I paid
“in-full”, and to wish the driver a “God bless!”
from me when she
pulled-up to retrieved her “Sweetened”-order.
I pulled away,
slowly, with my package while watching the
reaction of my
nemesis in the rear-view mirror. Her face
reddened as the
clerk informed her that the “idiot” in front
of her had paid
her bill and added some sweet-“pleasure”
to her treasure.
The kids quickly waved their “Thank you!”
As I pulled
away, I signed a “Pope’s” blessing in the mirror.
So!? What’s the big deal?---
Let there be Peace!
on earth…
And, let it
begin with…me!
Amen!
