Day 18 to 50 Celebration

Lake Storm

Relaxing on the clubhouse porch for respite

Any imagined problem, decide I, to forget it

Solitude under shading comfort of a huge red oak

Subtle wind change have my sharpened senses woke

Thunderheads tower tall on far horizon yonder

Lightning shards portend an awesome wonder

Rolling rumbles rattle roughly on a trained ear

Still, many myriad miles away to clearly hear

Acute aware now of impending stealthily danger

Clandestine tempest in disguise, never a stranger

Sweet smell of freshness harbored on tossed air

Purple-green robe does approaching front wear

A cooling breeze precedes the torrent threatened

White flashes streak as echoing crashes deafened

Upon the quaking black-chop surface of the lake

Wind-swept crests of wild white-caps soon wake

In safe harbor on headland beyond violent fray

Appreciate show of fearsome powerful display

Tranquil times return when turbulence passed

Such slight disruption of good day can’t last

Good against evil battles in lifetime are daily fought

Victory proclaimed, the altercation a fleeting thought

Value refuge in pure light of saintly virtue glow

Saved soul in Father, Son and Holy Spirit flow

Amen!
