One more chance...

Good Morning! America!

Early golden sun shaft window-breaks to kiss awake me cheek
“Good morning! America! I love His world!” Proudly, I speak

Sit up on bed edge to rub away night’s comfort dreams
Pray! “Lord! Today I’ll try!” Worthy choice, it seems

Hope to do better than yesterdays in Holy Spirit’s Grace
Spread Heaven-Love in radiant light-aura ’round my face

Picture image-clear of cherished ones I dearly love
Refined-designed as any fragile pure snow-white dove

In me time through space to pleasant-Love seek, then find
This ’ole heartbeat thumps to emulate humble offer “kind”

Should He grant me distance-enough to challenge reality
This rebel, rascal, rogue Salvation-gain by generous-charity

For though yon temptress stained sin-soul in wicked-evil transgression
Smart enough, I pray, to earn redemption-pass with contrite confession

So, kiss me cheek, Sunshine; tender-embrace a spirit soaring ever-wild
For I have tasted sweet the cherry-honey sugar-stick! “Innocent”-child?

And, if I could claim to “Perfect-be” like saints and angels whom I know
Well! Then? How plain un-noticed among all of them should Simple-I go?

When ’ere me number is called, do not be in line close behind shadow-shade
Though long and deep the “judgment” be! With some---I would not…trade!

Forgive! Then! Me myriad “irreverences”; I surely sport no halo-gold
Me word be bond; purpose-true; intent-worthy; me stained-soul never-sold

Might if I should, or could, and, even would, for Thee I’d take a chance
Truth! Be known---I’ll run this race, even in…one-legged tight pants

Amen!
