A "hand" for---you...and, me!

Subjects for Exploration

Sometimes I employ previously written articles, poems
or stories for Hope! Comfort! Inspiration! blog posts;
sometimes, inspiration comes as I sit before the monitor.

Today is one of those latter determinations.
“Thank You! Lord!” For Thy “helping hand”.
Sunday is a poor conclusion for T.V. viewing;
Not much of anything worth precious time.

When I was a kid, quite some space ago, now,
my dad allowed that I was like a T.V. Guide book
as I knew the days, times and channels to view almost
any show due to being glued to the black and white tube.

Not long after, he embarrassed me by telling the father
of an acquaintance that if he had any sense, he would like
to put an ax through that demon television. He was “Right”!
(I still watched the inane “entertainment”---Young and Dumb!)

Tonight, flipping through the myriad stations, (remember? Not
much on the screen on Sundays), when I stumbled upon a gospel
Advertisement for Gaither Homecoming Classics. Bravo!

Yeah! I’ve watched it before---often. But, it is…Inspiring!

One scene showed a man’s hand, palm outward, a Christian sign
of Praise! Honor! Glory! in sacred respect to the holy Deity. Wow!
And---Voila! My post for today!

A Hand for---me

Plain-looking, the human hand seems; there are more interesting
body parts: pretty face, shapely contours, long legs, etc…
And, intangibles like personality, character, emotion, love.
But, that scene of the devoted hand---Awesome!

A “funny”-looking contraption, the hand, but, Oh! So utilitarian!
In its design, configuration, softness, comfort, willing compliance.
I pray that my hands offered “aid” and “help” and “comfort”
To some needy person who encountered me at a trying time;
And, that I provided a “helping hand” in that sacred space.

Amen!
