Autumn Welcome Adoration!

 

 

Several weeks until it is Official;

still a sweetness of anticipation teases:

 

Migrates-south yon “V”-shaped flocking fowl;

early season  blue-winged teal with cousin shaded green;

later still the mallard, wood and canvasback appear;

then, their feathered kin, wild geese: Snow, Blue, Canadian;

regal-royal mantle-cape orange-red to yellow-golden hue;

alabaster pale full moon graveyard black-limb bare silhouette;

goblin-ghosts spook owl, black cat wail hollow “Trick or Treat!”

leaf pile high-hues reveal paled emerald lawn hope’s last “Hurrah”!

Thrill of season’s first measured-snow; taste winter-frozen promise;

Thanksgiving feast with family portending lovely Christmas-time;

pungent musky river birch leaves in water-vacant slough;

ivory tine, flash tawny hide, white flag-wave “Good-bye!”

phantom-forest wraith to live for challenge-sacred another day;

clatter-blades across rippled pond-ice bond-fire crackle cozy warm;

nose warmed in furry neck of noble beast enjoying “horse”-smell good;

amorma leather-sweet tack room pads on saddles bridles secure neat hung;

toasty fire against chill-blustery iron-grey November-sky howl-winds;

oak brown raspy leaves reluctant vacate their springtime-summer hosts;

myriad birds of red, blue, brown, grey feed at offered grains on chilled patio;

horse-head bench empty of company awaits snow winter-white hopes spring;

golden days celebrate to starry nights wrapped woolen blanket comfort-warm;

heated homemade soup on wood-fired stove with cornbread butter-dollop;

hot dogs roasted o’er bon fire with simmered chili spiced just right again;

maybe, with luck, a few wild sled rides down ole “Widow-maker”-slope;

trail rides dusk into dark under bright full moon orb special delight;

pumpkin-face image creative-carved with candle brought to full life;

hayride traverse chill night air heavy blanket-cuddled perfect love-kiss;

caress season-gift, kiss Autumnal benediction; Love! Mother Nature blessing!
