June
Summer heat conjures cooling thunderstorm
May flowers flourish as green gardens grow
Honest toil gets rewarded, this I do know
June is the month my dear mother was born
Gathering place for the nightly event
Family meets in the cooling wind sent
Discussions and plans, it’s a real loving thing
In a washtub watermelon frigid cold-iced
Or a big bowl of fresh strawberries fine-sliced
Glib spoken quip, a quick wit offered to show
An eventful special birthday---weren’t they all
Party time happened with just a simple phone call
Oh! Lord! How I wish that feeling could last
Into my future not all of them can I take
Only cherish memories like time at the lake
I do love them each, right now is the “when”
Cooling droplets to earth are falling pell-mell
Fresh-scent pleasant is that sweet clean smell
Porch swing philosophy---no doubt it’s the best
Softly-quiet I listen to comfort-warm Whisper-wind
On Angel white-wings romantic-Love Saintly-send
A blessed Measure! Treasure! Pleasure! Surely I knew
I read my true-Love cadenced-rhyme to enjoy-partake
