Tally a sacred-holy mantra true: Faith! Family! Freedom! Amen!
Frigid-Winter north-wind howls a vacant call
Frozen
crystal-waters cause rivers to errant stall
Respite!
Worthy-brother -sister no-more to fall
A Winter-scene
daguerreotype black-white shadowed snow-greys surreal dreamscape.
The “Hawk-has-come!”
as the indigenous-eskimo people proclaim the dark-night call.
Dancing lights! Aurora Borealis! The “northern lights”. 6-months of winter delight!
Sure enough! Reckon so! We ice skated on
frozen farm ponds and sledded the slopes wherever we could find them! Some fun! So cold the air tingled the nose! Wow! And beautiful thee! With a dark
green wool-cloth winter coat all bundled up toasty warm as we stood very close
in the tiny alcove shelter of the garage door after being apart for the just
ended school day. It didn’t take long in our embrace to “warm” the winter chill
air; I loved the “events” best of all, though I certainly have no legitimate
complaint, when swirling flakes danced Love!
in the air.
Might have been that blizzard night of
January 11, 1964, when first I kissed Oh!
Beauty! Thee! so tenderly. ’Twas plenty warm
that holy night as white snow swirled a Whisper-wind!
I loved thee then---and now…and ever
more and even more each day since! Amen!
Walking home at 2 a.m. from a night
visit watching movies and keeping warm---Delightful!
Homemade pizza and popcorn staples
witnessed the events. Outside to walk and play in Mother Nature’s winter scape.
Cold nose! Warm lips! Love! Born to
blossom winter flowers!
Always! On the near horizon! New-dawn! Another chance! A challenge! A Hope! & Prayer!
Thee! Forever by my
side. Defending crazy-dreams---better…participating in the game.
Tally not our houses built and turned
into “estates” with swimming pools and horse and pets and farms and vacations
and even more. Each time we got the homestead “just right” up went the “For sale” sign and too soon to pack
again and move on to brighter days and greener pastures?
Truly! I hope! The deserved much better
than a nomad Gypsy Rebel! Rascal Rogue!
Amen!
And yet, despite the stacked odds we
somehow managed to persevere onward and upward.
Came yet the best of blessings with our
children delight! Grandchildren and “Great”! Amen!
My “all
American” girl! Picking wild blackberries! Morel mushrooms! Fishing!
Hunting! Horseback riding! Swimming! Gourmet chef! Immaculate housekeeper! Class-act! 1st-class!
Always---the special-secret bond holding it all together…Love!...Faith! Family! Freedom!
Dragged thee clear across the
U.S.A.---and…back! Somewhere my Saint!
Became an Angel!
And, so, the challenge-of-frozen-Winter wild-wind chill faded to the Warmth-of Spring where we found
ourselves revitalized in belief of Life
& Love to plant renewal space with newborn foals and garden-planting on
to gentle rains growing on occasion to awesome Summer enthralling thunderstorms to rake and punish Fox Lake
mirror-surface as we snuggled-warn in the clubhouse harbor then to abound in
frolic enjoying a respite from evil
hot-humidity as soon the hellion slowly faded into September days and Halloween
cool nights in Autumn color show with
assured promise to usher in the northern cold for tally-sum just one more year!
Amen!
Oh!
Each
day I love thee more! Thy
beauty-softens to Gorgeous! Lovely-Lady!
Candice Leah!
For I have been---and am…and on a
’morrow dawn may well future be!
Forever more! Love!
Celebrate! Sweet Life!-Love! Together forever (plus just one
more day)!
“Stick with me! Kid!”
For I have sweet-licked the honey-sugar
candy cane of Love!
I won-Wild! the awesome “Lottery-of-life”!
Like the yonder cosmos: We begin where we
end.
Amen!
