Catch yon crystal-droplet
Often, I got-home early on any-day. Had a “job”
which afforded-
me a fair-amount of “free”-time so long
as I performed my “day-
job duties in a
“better-than-just-acceptable”-manner, which I-did!
We lived on a “working”-farm for over a
dozen-years; a-“hobby”
for ole-Carlos and a chance to “play” Green-Acres! Fantastic!
Such “fantasy”-life seemed “exact” for a
country-boy playing a role as
Farmer/Rancher on a “big”
cattle- and land-spread on the-river-bluff.
Hard-work! And, constant! 24/7! Any-weather!
Good---or…bad! Fun!
The farmstead had the old-house,
ramshackle buildings, a-barn, woods,
creek, hills, row-crop farm-land, a-pond
and one huge cerulean-blue sky!
I sometimes think we had at-least one of
each kind of animal-species.
Cattle, horses, dogs, cats, chickens,
ducks, sheep, even a Tilley-turkey!
Spent a-lot of time horseback-riding
with the girls. We played racing-
games in the rock-bottom creek; Drown-Dad! I-think! Hmm! Great!
Water-droplets flew like swirling
winter-snowflakes! (Catch-some!)
Any-game we-played---the
girls always Won!...My-choice! Amen!
