Magic-Garden (Scene?)
Awoke refreshed-bright after busy
yesterday in newborn early dawn
Quickly surveyed for any visitor,
only stirred on pond, a regal swan
Red squirrel scampered across yonder
limb while cousin grey boisterous chattered
Birds feathered indigo-Jay,
bright Cardinal red spied Robin bath, ’scold-clattered
Peaks now dazzling orange-blaze
orb prism crystal drops cool morning dew
Stirred-wind recedes in honored
salute recognizing warming king it knew
Sun joins water harmony provides need-precious
magic spawn right life
Mother Nature perfect concoction
like human-kind loving husband-wife
Recent holiday, me purview,
visitors invaded sacred nook and cranny
Babies in stroller scenes,
siblings, parents, a Pappy with ole Granny
Ah! Kingdom treasure at me feet,
blue-water lake hugs forest verdant-green
Bridge-span of people feed me koi
while mallard ducks king-feathers preen
Centuries unfolded myriad
histories, sun-snow delight in refreshing memory bliss
Like young couple on yon bench
five decades past when boy stole a Miss first-kiss
Visitors return periodically once satiated by
me beauty. Where do they all come from?
I recognize, me thinks, an
anniversary celebration! Oh! Not just a pair; full twenty-some
Ole sly Red Fox displays a flash
to human-angels quick with focused attention
Earthen cave den near lake’s
sheer bank vertical invites most rapid ascension
Caretakers filter through front
office, most good, some with a keener understanding
They lend a helpful hand,
manicure rough edges; I provide more than their demanding
In Summer June with flower blooms
I chaperone innocent white-dress wedding
Autumn palette shutters snap to
capture canopy shaded yellow-gold, pale-redding
Bare-beauty Winter crystal-branches
feature spider-web cerulean celestial abyss
Spring rebirths once reticent
buds, sunfish spawn, Morels pop, life cannot resist
Brick house windows tall stream pale-gold
sunlight insipid awesome splendored
A babbling fountain-liquid
entertains wishes shadowed-hope secret-surrendered
Waves-unfurled red, white, blue
salute to silver arch sacred gardens botanical encase
Slips by sun’s time dare escape not
sweet love for life satiated within laugh’s embrace
Amen!
