Winter-solace

Our azure-days---follow…midnight-stars!

Sharp blue-eyes followed a corkscrew grey-fog rise from the surface
of brown-calm hot tea as the orbs twinkled in contemplation. In
the background, his sub-conscious caught the subtle shuffle-noise
of  Nanny beginning preparations for the evening meal. Yum!

Through the crystal window-glass (Nanny being a fastidious housekeeper
with “immaculate”-results) Bapa noted the descending winter-sun, mentally
noting the hour to be nearly four; as soon as he finished the warming-liquid it
will be time to don the winter parka and wool hat to reluctant-exit the wood-stove
warmth and pleasant supper-odors to brave the cold for evening feeding-time.

Already, the cattle-herd approached the loafing shed, sheep had found the
straw-filled stall, chickens were at-roost, horses nickered soft-expectations.

And, when the chores are done---complete…supper…to await quiet diamond-stars!
Amen!
