Comfortable Convertible Cruising
Yeah! I know
it’s two a.m. and we ought to be in a dream
Bright full moon
beckons, we can get chocolate ice-cream
White ragtop
down, the red hot chariot is rolling
Pacific blue
waves reflect the alabaster’s strolling
North on 101
from our secret secluded cove
Pine-scented
wind enjoyed as by the sea we rove
Lincoln
City-beach deserted while the colorful kites slumber
Yonder-east
across Coast Range makes one feel more humbler
Onward shading
north toward Portland-town way
The Interstate
to 405 for some fun-time circle-play
Flying pre-dawn
wild times takes some special nerves
Not too
carefully traverse, those tight Terwilliger curves
Ford-clear
Willamette River flows to the mighty-Columbia
That red Mustang
a-galloping with co-pilot Candice Le-ah
Ore’ the
lane-lined bridges to view seductive city poses
Intoxicating
fragrance envelopes this red City-of-the-Roses
Glass towers
blush crimson on impressive modern skyline
West, the
Pittock-mansion stands proud in Old Growth-pine
’Round the town
to view this city awesome fair
Sellwood-antiques
to Clackamas Towne Square
Seems the faster
we go, the better it looks
A cop wrote my
name in one of his books
To properly
celebrate that authority noticed my-sin
I kicked ’er in
the fast lane, flew-lightning ’round again
My attitude
displays not pernicious-malevolence
To: Faith! Family! Freedom! I offer
humble-reverence
Because---That
“Trinity”-sacred may just be all there really---is
In one eternal
instant, the only counted judgment will be…His!
Amen!
