Be "Proud" of me---

Respect!

She told me that her confession to an estranged father
of being sorry for not ever making the man "proud"
of his newfound daughter went all but unnoticed by
he who had fathered her; he took to deriding her for
her life choices, decided "how" she ought to live, in
his eyes, "what" she should be allowed to think and say,
even, do, "who" she might associate with,
even, T.V. shows she could watch.

Her heartfelt lament: I never made him proud of me.

My simple reply, in humble honesty:
One person cannot take pride in any other
until he has pride in himself.

So?

"Respect" is necessarily born of worthy "Pride";
Respect---is...earned.

Love! Is it's own reward;
like value is kin to virtue!

Amen!

Sweet dreams! Mon Amie! Always!
