Christ"m"as Love! (Part 2 of 4)

Scene 2: The gift exchange

Nanny: There’s a pile of gifts with a name on each
Bapa: To the ceiling I do believe they’ll reach

With practiced hands they seek the hidden treasures inside
Until colored confetti builds a mountainous avalanche slide

Anna: A microscope to view the miniature creature world
Lexi: A doll and clothes, my very own American Girl!

Z. Tyler: Thanks ever so much for a trip to River City
Lauren: Without those ads, that Kindle sure is pretty

And books and clothes and gift cards galore
Perfect presents for each that the others adore

Dinner was great, the party just right
Gentle snowflakes swirled at the stroke of midnight

Our girls placed the Innocent Babe in His manger
The reason for Christmas to whom no one’s a stranger

All: Oh! This was the best ever Christmas Love
All: Blessings abound from heaven above

Christ"m"as Love! (Part 1 of 4)

Nanny’s Angels
Offer a presentation of:

Christ“m”as Love!
(a play)

Act I---Christmas Eve

Setting: A traditional living room adorned with festive Christmas decorations

Scene 1: Bapa asleep before the fireplace in pleasant dreamland

All: Shush! He’s napping before the annual big event
All: When around the world on a reindeer bright red sleigh he’s sent

Lauren: He sure takes to heart this Santa Claus thing
Anna & Lexi: He so loves Christmas time and the carols we sing

All (singing): Oh! Come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant
Anna (singing): I want a dog big as an elephant

Z.Tyler: Girls, Christmas is all about giving
All: We learned that from Nanny and Bapa’s living

Lexi: Sure, Rye-Rye, they say we’re a great family
Anna: But, I think Bapa may have fallen out of the tree

Lauren: Oh! Sister! He really can count and knows the alphabet
Z. Tyler: He’s simply teasing with trying your goat to get

Anna: I want a dog, not a pointed set of Billy goat horns
Lexi: Uncle Alex just said now he’s surely forlorn

All: Don’t despair, Alexander, you could live with that
Lexi: Poppy! If Anna gets a dog, then I want a cat

Bapa: Ah! I truly love this Christmas season
Bapa: These family get-togethers must be the reason

All (singing): Silent night! Holy night! Peaceful snowfall purely white

Christmas Tyme-Rhyme

Idyllic Vision

Embrace idyllic vision ancient desert town there yonder
Innocent revered by humble man, domestic creature wonder

Love true sacred miracle-gift of new-life baby born of holy Mother
Sent His Savior Son to redress yon heaven for every sister-brother

Peer ye down upon sweet face lying in manger’s soft hay
Vacant celebrity fanfare to celebrate humble sacred birthday

Two worshipful millennia eons plus have come and been and gone
Each single year His faithful pray a comfort “Silent Night!”-song

Clarion angel trumpeted to lowly shepherds as their vigil keep
“Noel! Noel!” Soft on still night in respected peaceful deep

Came they in bowed allegiance eager to humbly honor, holy adore
“The King is come upon the earth” as foretold in campfire ancient lore

Heaven hosts sing eternal sweet-voiced proud angelic choir
Seraphim and Cherubim celestially syncopate a hallowed lyre

While there in simple Bethlehem in a modest, rustic, wooden stable
Comes a consecrated spark to conflagrate a saintly Communion table

Long time since, servant Moses received His holy Commandments ten
First three, Love God; seven more, Love man; lest suffer soul-stained sin

Now, born the Child to become a man takes only holy breath
Conquered evil and the world and surely vacant, lonesome death

What sacred several holy words might one condense of His pure Love?
Honor Faith! Love Family! Cherish Freedom! Bestowed treasures from above

Pray! In thy tender heart lives Christ’s Love in everlasting glow
From that font allow to all ye meet holy water abundantly to flow

Give voice to celebrated prayer with “Thy” will be done
Abandon vacant “my” as humbly honor His perfect Son

Choose thee, now, one easy simple imperative decision
Love Father, Son and Holy Ghost; live His “Idyllic Vision”

Faith! Family! Freedom! Might just be all there really is…
In one eternal instant, the only mercy judgment will be---His!
Amen!

Merry Christmas! 2013

:Silent: Nights

Peace-Night Delight

Wee hour “clackity”-freight train whistle low echo-lone calling
Rude interruption of a wild fantasy adventure-dream appalling

Slipped sudden from comfort slumber respite wide awake
Diamond pierced blue-black canopy through glass partake

Contemplate the dawning ’morrow challenge soon presented
Pleasure-pure of quiet space within night-innocent consented

Peer through moon glow with nose touching cold window pane
White blanket heavy frost caress-close winter-dead grass bane

Maple branches skeleton-hand stretch heaven-way
Soft-fade cadenced rhythm of steel-wheel rails away

Remains only humble I alone in a wide world-place vast
For a time space-condensed slow as love-memory passed

Deep breath clear air expands a heart emotion-yonder
Dear one’s images flash treasure offer measure-wonder

Wraithlike whippoorwill invisible invades peace in repeated song
Unlike some still fast asleep in night shy birds most surely belong

Softness stirs beginning wind as new dawn approaches
Slight cold grey hint horizon east spent night reproaches

Cast eyes above stars beyond to sight celestial promise-place
Pray! Forgive transgression-sins redeem with Salvation-Grace

Long stilled clickety-clack now view newborn day fire
In spirit thrilled of Seraphim and Cherubim angel-choir

And, thankful for another day to get it right; one more chance
Praise! Honor! Glory! If sun, I’ll smile! If rain, I’ll dance!

All of Love begins and ends and belongs in Him on High
My plight? Simple! Each gifted instant I must honest try

When “Now I lay me down…” at day’s end this blessed night
Send scheduled train to awake and lead me into Thy holy sight

Christmas Joy! edges coming nearer through each passing day
Bethlehem-yonder stable-star shall surely show thee the way

A Life for "Christmas!-Magic!"

I believe in Christmas

Yes! I freely confess that I do. And, “Yes” again; I believe in Santa Claus, too!

For many reasons, for varied purposes, through “pure” knowledge. Lord! Thee knows fully that I have tried, mostly, to become “Christian”, that is, like You, and, also, that I have desperately attempted to be “Santa Claus” to as many as possible. Of course, I failed, both times.

Perhaps my salvation might come in Your mercy, at the time, with “He tried!” Amen!

Allow me, please, to offer an explanation, somewhat. Not of despair, but hope. Keep the faith!

Death can come streaking out from our surreal consciousness where we ban it with other vile evils and fallen demons which chance to threaten. Its very ugliness grates on our psyche with the icy finger of a stark phone call, appropriately, in the dead of night---the bad beginning of an unending cold-sweat nightmare. Distress punches the stomach, rips at the heart, bores a hole in the soul, empties the spirit. Yet, it remains, reality. No matter how much we deny it, the truth of the matter at hand remains and, even, we, cannot lie it out of existence. Hope! I pray. Dear Lord!

My dear friend died. Someone I loved…and, still do…and, always will. I assumed my friend had a lot of time; I was wrong---dead, wrong! I took it for granted; no one ever knows how long.

I’ve shed many a tear over our loss…but, I’ve smiled, just as often. For the precious memories, for my friend’s Christian life, the goodness, the happy times.

Because of the anniversary of Christ’s birth, I believe that soul is alright, that spirit soars, enjoying the reward of heaven in the next dimension, a realm into which I cannot yet see.

Not only do I believe it in my mind, feel it in my heart, sense it in my soul…I know it as an absolute within my spirit. That knowledge is “true” and “pure” because…

I believe in Christmas!

Amen!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving

Comfort-warmth embrace our home with family-show
Love-filled neat and tidy in blessed Thanksgiving-glow

Roasted turkey perfect-browned honored-guest delights
Feast table-spread delectable to celebrate culinary sights

Snow-surprise for the kids, and, me, last eve’s enchantment-gift
Break out the sleds and saucers for fun our free-sacred spirits lift

Yon slope behind the house slick-slides to distant creek
Mantle-white alive as urchins, and, me, adventure seek

Shy-pale sun orb bashful behind grey-yonder flying scudder-clouds
Myriad bright ski-suits, coats and scarfs sparkle snow-scape proud

Waves from wild tots to adults at the windows safe-warm watching
Youngster-display show their stuff like snowball flights a-catching

Crackling-warm the cedar log flames like mock fireworks in winter
Momma skittering subtle-around so as not to be the attention-center

And, Papa all aglow with a captive audience with such far-fetched tales
Embellishments upon imagination-dreamed where suffered-Truth pales

Call-in the snow worshippers with a toll of the yard antique dinner-bell
A mountain of soaked clothes abandoned by red cheeks and noses, swell

Gather ’round sumptuous dinner table for fine feast of the holiday year
Nanny babied Z. Tyler with a turkey leg as wild spectators loudly cheer

Bapa asked the little girls to say “Grace” before their food, they get
Quick-witted Annie Rie looked up with “Gee! Is she even here, yet?”

Sister Lauren elbowed sibling’s irreverence as Lexi shook her curly head
Mommy drew a breath “Oh! My!” as Nanny and Bapa laughed, instead

Bapa saved the day as “fun and games” of laughter he did most especially like
“I don’t know about “Grace” or even, thunder, but lightning’s about to strike!”

And, with that un-ceremonious fiat---Let the games begin!
Thanksgiving-time forgive any unintended transgression-sin

Amen!

Soared rainbows on wild unicorns chasing flitter-y flutter-bys
Triumphed challenge “can’t do” with entrepreneurial-fiat tries

And, “unconventional” in every facet, judgment “crazy-man”
Unafraid “Fear not” the mantra-cry forward, an ambitious “can”

Then, our boy Z-Tyler Adonis-handsome talented lad
Did conquer any challenge-fare in triumph-victor clad

Honor!

"Quality " is Eternal!

"I promise..." is my personal word---Guaranteed! (Man to man)
"I vow..." is my sacred pledge---Guaranteed! (Me---in...God)

A man is as "Good" (or, evil) as is his---word!
Trust is built on "reputation"!
Such practiced-belief begets---"Quality"!

Once the "bond" is sealed, there are "No" excuses;
only worthy performance; only Truth!

We were privileged to be invited to a horse show, yesterday.
Chilly weather and the excitement of an equine extravaganza
had the animals' instincts tuned to perfection; they seem to be
natural "performers"-for-the-crowd as is any worthy celebrity
of stage, screen or theatre venue. Real "hams" for the camera.

Curried, combed and brushed blemish-free, trained for
hours on-end through meticulous patient-practice these
magnificent hunter-jumper "pets" performed perfectly at
masterful hand and boot cues of excellent youthful riders.

"Quality!"---Exemplified!...Personified!

A most "pleasurable" experience for equestrian and spectator, alike.

A "Great" display-show performance which exuded---Grace!

All the myriad participants were---simply...Fabulous!

And, the heart-warming "piece-de-resistance"?
A tiny-tot three year old on a prancing pony in
a dressage class led by a fine young lady name
of "Margo" encouraging the little "princess"!

Such an "obvious" unconditional Love-devotion! Exquisite!

Once again, Avalon Stables sets the example---"Quality!"

A sincere, Thank you! Silver Springs Pony Club!

Faith! Family! Freedom!

Your appreciative guests---
Amen!

Sunday (everyday) pleasures

Reflections

Snow! Flurries yesterday! Yea!
Accumulation will---come...I hope!

Rain preceded the white fluff-stuff;
brought down some more leaves---Oh! Well!
Good exercise; pretty, too.

Horse show today for our Anna Marie and Miss Lauren.
Fun to spectate; I love horses---and...anything the girls do.

Lexlie-Lu with mom and dad in Cozumel, Mexico
on vacation for Thanksgiving Day holiday. Si!

Z. Tyler and nurse Jenn surprised us with lunch
to celebrate our "49th" anniversary! Oh! Yeah!

The young man has "class"---and...my "bride"?
Called her a "saint" for twenty years...
I was wrong and apologized; she is
an "angel"! She put up with "moi"---
well...so far!? Amen!

Yes! I enjoy a "Great" life!
Blessed---undeserving...but, smart enough to cherish it.

Faith! Family! Freedom!

Amen!
