Trick? or Treat?
Barely had the
ole sun set to the western sky
Purple dusk
shadows creeped slowly longer by
Wind-chased
leaves pushed yon cemetery gate
Creaking rusty
hinges clarion wraiths to spooky fate
Nighttime falls
overrun with ghouls and goblins
A one legged
pumpkin tries to escape hobbblin’
Yellow moon lights white-eyed owl a black
skeleton tree
Dracula, the Wolf
man, monster Frankenstein escape free
Little
masquerade-urchins scream and pray for high noon
Night-winds moan
as clouds shroud alabaster pale full moon
A group of five
costumed “darling” kids approach my front door
In “Freddie
Krueger” mask with fiery chain saw I’ll settle a score
Jumping from the
bushes I yell and rev up the loud saw
Press remote
button, make crow on my shoulder “Caw!”
Four?
“chicken”-children run away screaming a death card
One outfit-ed
“Ninja Turtle” kicked ole bully-Freddie hard
As the chainsaw
monster went down in excruciating pain
Karate-Ninja
kicker stole all the sweet candy for his own gain
Severely injured
monster crawled slowly into the house
Doctored his
injury---Now he sounds like “Mickey Mouse”
Beware! Pale scare-y
ghosts “Trick or Treat” Halloween eve
Fill their bags
with “Goodies”; Pray! They peaceful---Leave!
