Afraid of Death?
I laugh at the absurdity of such indignant thought
One final breath comes to all beings, life taught
Daily challenge the lies world-spoken, confessed
Independent-born must stand alone above all rest
No trepidation face terrible abyss yet unknown
Too many worry what vacant life has not shown
Old darkness slithers in disguise to tempt me
Long ago gave life to Christ Who redempt me
“Fear not” no hollow braggadocio ego
Faith! Mon Amie, lest lost empty way I go
Smell sweet rain steel-grey clouds often bring
Whisper-wind sweet-soft as angel wings do sing
Chase seductive rainbow just for pure fun
Capture butterfly colors on high noon sun
Why not all the bad in a tight-lid jar?
To view perverse evil safely from afar
Watch children dance, they believe in Santa, see
Fairy princess, handsome Adonis, not just fantasy
Are thee afraid in freedom dare to live?
Then, condemn sinned soul, to evil, give
View stark white sail traverse blue Frisco Bay
Pray! My soul as pure! Come sure Judgment Day
A lifetime of horded treasure secreted debase
Eternal high road follow heaven’s own Way-trace
When all’s been done and said and counted
Leave it behind as cold pale-rider is mounted
