Autumn-stirrings
Autumn
is on the calendar and in the air
Stirs
my spirit-Peace! Quite a very Cool-pair
Just
below the surface and often blatant and adventure-yearning
“Thank
God!” Each dawn for another chance at
opportunity-discerning
In
the loft ’neath dark night stars to wrestle alfalfa hay for the stock
Wild
Canadian call or silent streaking comet chimes my internal clock
Cattle!
Sheep! Goats! Horses! Stir awake sauntering to the feed manger
In
their familiar language each manages a sincere “Thank you! Stranger!”
“Hi!
Friends!” I reply. To Mirage, “Hi! Raj” My Arabian dapple-grey
Early
chores might be demanding; to a country-boy, a game of play
Check
the water trough, break then ice: move onto the chicken house
Soft
chicken “clucks” and duck “quacks” with a squeak from the resident mouse
Grey-dawn
hints a chilling call vanquishing-night to welcome-day
Sun
orb orange peeks a horizon-cold to ascend a cerulean sky way
Mother
Nature! Regal! Her Royal wardrobe displayed in red, yellow, gold
Chill-wind
plays leaf-tag with summer’s lost green-shade now color-bold
A
tingle-chill upon my nose promise-soon a winter white-fluff snow
Love
in me heart! White, me soul! Sacred Peace
satiated-spirit! I-know
“Thank
Thee! Lord! For time in space to
appreciate Winter! Spring! Summer! Fall!
Praise! Honor!
Glory!
Be! I have been & am & will be! Await my call”
Amen!
